Stayed here for 1 night in a Jacuzzi Villa.. This was a special treat as it was my 30th Birthday but we can't help but feel disappointed!! When we booked online we viewed an extensive & English version of a a la carte menu.. Looked great!! Not the case.. It was a set menu with only 3 dishes per course... More

My wife and I stayed at the Grand Hotel for five nights in early May this year. We found the hotel very average, the rooms are clean but smallish in size and there are nice views from most balconies but with no tea facilities...when we enquired about a iron board and iron...we were told there were none in the hotel... Las Negras is probably one of the best villages to explore the coast - small, remote and preserved yet with restaurants and a supermarket. The area is simply beautiful and offers endless possibilities for exploring. Hotel Cala Grande itself is close to perfect: very calm, modern, extremely comfortable, spotless clean... We had a room on the second floor with a... More

Stayed 10 days based at this hotel whilst re-visiting Almeria for the first time in 20+ years. Most of the coast has developed into the high rise, over built disasters of the majority of the Costas, but Las Negras and Capo de Gato, thanks to national parks status, is little changed. Many reviewers complained of the hotel being hard to... More

We live locally to the Cabo de Gata, and enjoy the hippie laidback vibe of Las Negras. This is the first time that we have stayed at Hotel Cala Grande, and we would definitely return. We stayed in a standard double room €99 including breakfast. The staff at reception, in the restaurant and in the spa were all very friendly... More

Mind you, it is not easy to find, especially when Nijar is given as location. Las Negras is part of Nijar but more than 20km away froim the center of the village. Best is to put the coordinates (longitude and latitude) in your GPS, since also the street (C/Navegante) was not known in our system (monthly updated Garmin). But once... More

Hotel Spa Cala Grande is a very nice hotel, both from the design perspective (the pool area is really wonderful) and the location one, it is on Las Negras village, a very small but cool spot and from there you can easily visit all the Cabo de Gata area (mainly the beautiful beaches). I'd definitely recommend it if you want... More

Cala Grande hotel is a very modern and nice hotel. Rooms are big and very clean. They have 2 pools, one of them for children. Both are very nice although they have thought about design and not about security. Pools are surrounded by marble floor that is extremely slippery and dangerous. The pool bar is very good. The barman is... More

Stayed for 7 days at the end of July. Interconnecting rooms were a bonus and immaculately clean. The super-king size beds were wonderfully comfortable so we slept very well. The balcony was ideal for catching the morning sun and a place of retreat when the temperature rose in the afternoon. Staff were incredibly helpful and the location meant we could... More
