spent the day around dalby forest having a good day with friend. We decided to a local hoping for a traditional pub meal, you're average 'pub grub'. I have never been a fussy eater but after today everything changed. I ordered 'the buck bacon burger' with chips and onion rings with a side of salad. Basically the service and place... More

The food was very good but the portions were too big. We all had starters and by the time we had finished them we were full and couldn't really enjoy the main course. Downside was that there were small kids running around and they could have caused an accident. Not the pubs fault more the parents for letting them

Spent the week camping in Thornton-le-Dale and popped in here a few times. Hand pulled real ale was great, 3 or 4 different ales and tasty, well kept. Food was good, we had the fish & chips and the burger, both meals were good, the burger was a little over-cooked to be honest but the chips were superb !!! Pub... More

The Buck has been greatly improved over the years and is now a great pub right in the centre of Thornton Dale. Cosy and welcoming bars with good selection of beers and wines plus simple and tasty pub food.

Myself and a few friends were staying in a cottage in Thornton le Dale for the weekend. When entering The Buck we were looked at like we were not welcome. After asking for a round of drinks the barmaid who may well be the owner spoke to us horrendously. I have never been so shocked. Apart from that, the food... More

Breakfast was delicious well presented. We'll worth the star rating and we would stay here again only draw back for me even though I know it's a dog friendly pub there were too... More

Sunday lunch was good. Service was quick and polite. Enjoyed our visit and would visit again. The restaurant was quiet and clean and the decoration was pleasant. A very relaxed and welcoming place to enjoy your meal.

Nothing for you here. Would've excused the overcooked food if the young bar lady with a chip on her shoulder wasn't so attached to her baubles. Don't go here if you are in a group and want to have a good time, you're money is welcome elsewhere (over the road) The pub dog was lovely.
