A great choise to stay for a couple of days to visit the magnificent ruins and do some exploring around the area. Hotel is comfortable, nicely located and is a nice place to relax after a long day of exploring Tikal.

We were very happy with our stay at the Camino Real Tikal. The hotel is isolated and located on Lake Peten Itza, which is beautiful. The rooms all view the lake and are large and comfortable. The grounds are nice as well. The water is drinkable, which we didn’t expect, but were happy to see. The staff was all very... More

We stayed at the Camino Real Tikal on March 15, 2006 for one night. We loved the hotel. The grounds were beautiful, and integrated well with the jungle surroundings. The place was very clean. We didn't see any bugs on the grounds, which is amazing since the setting is in the jungle. Service was very good and so was the... More

We went to visit Tikal on March 2004. We really loved that beautiful hotel. It was a really quite environment. The food servers at the restaurant were really kind. Excellent breakfast buffet. We are planning to go back there again. Camino Real at Tikal is the best place ever.

My family and I stayed here in February after reading some previous reviews. Let's face it there are not many other choices in the area. If you want to stay overnite it is Ok. But only 1 night, The complex was beautiful at one time and could be again it they put some money into the place. Now it is... More

The hotel complex is very nice, with a great deal of amenities. Lovely views of the lake. Unfortunately our room had a leaking air conditioning unit, which we reported three times and was told we would have a maintenance engineer come and inspect it - but no one ever came. We also gave the hotel reception three postcards and the... More

Incredible views of Lake Peten Itzá from every room, excellent wildlife and food. The location is just passed "el gringo perdido" about 30 minutes from the main Tikal national park entrance, so it is cumbersome if you want to be around the park for a few days, but the ammenities are far better than the 3 hotels inside the park.... Definitely recommended for service and amenities. Rooms and bathrooms are on the smallish side, but are probably the best you're going to find in the area. That and the only local air-conditioning! FYI, bar drinks are very overpriced (we never ate here, but instead dined at Casa de Don David [super!]); best to stock the room's mini-bar with beer purchased... More

My husband and I enjoyed faultless service, delicious food, a pristine lake, kayaking, nice hiking in nature preserve directly across hotel complete with complementary guide and armed guard - (they err on the side of safety), a delightful swimming pool, sounds of monkeys, toucans flying overhead while we ate our breakfast. In short, paradise.

We stayed there for only one night ( unfortunatly ) in Feb 2005 as part of a tour from Mexico, mainly of Belize. Had we know how nice it was we would have stayed longer. The views of the lake from the room ( upper rooms of 3 levels probably best ) & from the outside large dining are were... More
