Beautiful surroundings, on the lake, little beach area for swimming and watching sunsets, which are beautiful. Food good, starting getting sick here, tho, after staying and eating a day, got the revenge. A long walk from rooms to main lodge area. Couldn't enjoy the food after that. Road entering hotel is awful.

We booked two joint rooms at this Hotel wich was easy for me so I did not had to be running in and out of different rooms to attend my 2 children but the rooms felt very dated. I wouldn't give them more than 3 starts. You'll have to pay $5 to be able to use Internet and even if... More

Camino Real is beautifully located alongside Peten Itza and makes a good starting point for excursions to e.g. Tikal. The hotel has nice facilities, a smooth pool area, nice beach, etc. However, they seem to have wondered of in some idea of being a five star Four seasons, located at some important hub. But, they of course come short on... More

A very nice hotel. Clean and well kept. The views are great. The restaurant had excellent food which is important as you are quite secluded. We found this to be a great place to stay between our trips to Tikal and Yaxha Mayan ruins

This was a magical setting for a hotel. The staff was outstanding, the food was fabulous and the rooms were clean and comfortable. If you are planning a trip to Tikal to see the ruins make sure you include a stay at this property. Don't miss the sunsets.

we have stayed many times over the past 20 years or so and have never been disappointed. It's close to Tikal (about a 30-40 minute drive) and about 40-45 minutes from Flores. The hotel has beautiful grounds, the rooms are clean and the service is friendly and very attentive. The hotel feels like an oasis from the surrounding tropical rainforest,... More

An isolated hotel along a bumpy dirt track on the lake . An amazing situation . Lovely staff . Offering us a drink after a long drive . Room was fine with a lovely view of the lake . On our first night we thought that we would drive into Flores but it's a 45 minute drive ! We lost... More

Even though the hotel is 30+ years old and has not any major renovation, it seems like the mistakes are well hidden by the experience of this guys running hotels. At the end you can have a reasonable stay, don't expect more. Everything needed is in place and location is good.

Loved the setting, pool and AC after exploring Tikal. The lakeside setting is quiet and peaceful, the rooms were clean, spacious with comfy beds. It was a perfect base for the reason we were there: to spend time exploring Tikal for the first time. We traveled by car--which made it cost effective. It really bothered us that drinking water came... More

Good hotel but far from the first village. Spacious room. The hotel beach... More
