The Balcony Guesthouse seems to be under new management and undergoes some renovation at the moment and that's very good, because it is a beautiful old villa with simple but nice rooms. Especially some rooms upstairs with wooden floor and walls are really pleasant. Smiley does everything to make you feel at home, relax zone, restaurant and bar are convenient... More

Located a little from the centre of town, overlooking the town lake - which is not the crater lake. Good place to stay for a few days, go to the crater lake, local waterfalls and the gemfields. The gemfields are quite interesting, with shafts dug in between rubber and cashew plantation trees. Being in the mining industry it was interesting... More

We booked by email according to their website and the guy gave us some tips to reach Banlung from Laos but he apparently never forwarded our booking to the staff managing the GH therefore we had to take a more expensive room. The hotel was really cool and it was really nice to get a pleasant lake view restaurant where... More

Glad you enjoyed your stay with us despite the mix-up with your room. As for the bus tickets, although we try to sell for the lowest price possible, sometimes the cheapest bus companies are not completely reliable so we prefer to pay a dollar or so more. Hope to see you again sometime. More

In balung for 2-3 days, we finally stay 5 days here. It's the perfect place to take time and have rest. Rooms are clean (little old but clean) and staff, Smile in particular are so nice. They help you to organize your days. It's so nice, we take our meals here and meet other guests. A good address for people... More

I can't say enough about how great the staff & owner are. Peter took us on a trip to the waterfalls, all of the staff had great info on tours & travel. I was headed to Vietnam from here and they arrange a bus ticket for me, worked out great, fast, no hassels at the boarder & took me directly... More

The best part of Banlung Balcony is the staff. They are so friendly, chatty and helpful. Chatted with "Smiley" quite a bit and he was such a treat. So intelligent, concerned with nature (evidenced by his desire to create art for the restaurant out of recycled goods), well-spoken, and open and honest about everything, including his background, that of his... Food was great as was the friendly manager, Pheak. The menu had a great selection of Khmer and western food. The burgers are recommended especially Pork and Lemongrass. The kids were impressed with the quality of the western food We also booked a tour with the owner, Pheak whose English is excellent - a very friendly guy.

We had 2 breakfasts and one dinner here and the food was great. Big portions and excellent local food for dinner. The owners are also really friendly and help with buses and trips even if you are not staying. Good value and friendly service, plus snooker and darts if you want!

We are a couple in our late 20's backpacking & this was our first stop in Cambodia. There's not a huge amount of choice in Banlung but for a little more than the $7 to stay here you could get better. Positives: The room was only $7 per night with hot water and a relatively comfortable bed. The communal area... More
