This was our first stop on our To-Europe Self-drive 8-day Castles and Palace Fairy Tale tour. We were traveling in September 2013. It is a fabulously small castle in a small town about 1.5 hours from Frankfurt. We arrived, checked in, and had dinner. The next morning they actually called to check if we were coming down to breakfast because... More

This castle made for a magical stay for my best friend's wedding! The staff were so attentive to the party's needs and provided us with world-class service! The drinks were delicious and reasonably priced and the catered wedding dinner was delectable. All rooms were well-kept and provided us with beautiful castle views. The grounds are pristine and we enjoyed spending... More

Best place for wedding ever. Very clean, light rooms with all nessesary environment including iMac on the desk. Romantic atmosphere, nice view to all sides - the hotel is situated in a castle which is surrounded by forests. Very Good kitchen, pleasent stuff. Highly recomended! Also the castle itself is a museum, and its owner sometimes make excursions. One little... More

I just have been few times in Schloss Romrod and the hotel is really special. The rooms are a bit different / no standard / and the location of the rooms are interesting. The hotel is in old castel and you have this special taste of history all time. The food is great and the bar is perfect. The room... More

Wonderful and historic property with rooms on the simple side, at least my single was, but with a large combo TV and computer (Apple) with perfect wireless access and a well-equipped bathroom, super comfy bed and very cozy bar lounge with many cocktails or just good bear and very nice leather chairs. Breakfast was super. Just one major complaint. The... More

Just for one night - so "just" 4-stars - all very fine. Room (101) not so big but enough and clean. Nice idea and good solution with the apple. Wonderful bar. Next time i will try the restaurant - breakfast was very good and then i'm sure - when the whole service will have the quality and power of the... More

Historic site with modern insides. You get a super bone dry martini, excellent duck breast, can smoke a Havana, and sleep in a tower ... A rare occasion to having it all. .. For a very reasonable price. ..... The best deal between Munich and Hamburg.

My favourite hotels are where historic buildings meet modern standards and high technology. Never before have I had a beautiful hotel suite in a tower, wonderfully renovated with a brand new full size Apple computer and free internet. We were served dinner in our own private 800 year old dinning room complete with draped red velvet and rose petals. Our... More

Stayed for 2 nights to have an convenient location between Frankfurt and Fulda. The castle looks like a fairytale home, and inside its all remodelled. The furniture is bright, and despite smallish windows, the whole room feels very airy and cosy. The bathroom was classy, and absolutely spotless. No signs of wear & tear which you find in 5-star hotels,... More
