The host is very friendly and welcoming. The room standard nice and accommodating with very comfortable bed. Plenty of tea and coffee. Breakfast very nice quality best bacon I've had for ages. Coffee not so good but we only drink lavazza so not many places can please us. The only down thing was bed framing in our very small room... More

Arrived late Friday evening to see Derby County home game the following day. iPro Stadium within walking distance, 20 minutes or so. Off road parking is handy out the front, space on road too for when that gets full, as it was when we got there. Paid cash on arrival, had a comfortable room, up two flights of stairs, standard... I had looked all over for hotels for the Download festival and they were asking crazy prices. A friend told me of a b&b called the Maryland on London Road. I called and was lucky enough to book a single room but they only had one without on suit, but I was happy with that. The price was good and... More

I stayed in the B&B for nearly the past year on work related business and always the hosts to be very friendly and accommodating, the B&B itself is next to Alvaston park and is good for a quiet walk and while you may need a car or public transport to get to the Derby town centre it is within walking... My husband and I stayed at the Maryland for one night whilst meeting up with some friends in Derby. On arrival, we were offered a ground or first floor room. We chose the ground floor and were given a spacious room with a double and a single bed in it, with an ensuite shower/wc. The room was comfortable and lovely... More

I have stayed here a few times over the last year and have not been disappointed with any aspect of Maryland and the owners. The price is excellent as is the service, choice of available breakfast items, WiFi connection, overall cleanliness, and quietness in the property. I anticipate returning many more times.

This is a perfectly solid B&B in a suburb(!) of Derby. You'll need either a car or ride by bus to the city centre (c. 12-14mins, UKP 2.20 per trip) or to the station (c. 9 min, same price). It's not possible to walk the distance every day (c. 45min to the station, 60min to the centre). So pay that... More

My wife and I stayed for two nights while visiting family in Derby. Both my wife and I are disabled with mobility difficulties. Our host placed us in a downstairs double en suite, which was at the rear of the building. The only bugbear to this room was the window looking onto a wall which had a light on constantly.... More

A clean comfortable place to stay. On my own but had a very large room with good size en suite. On ground floor at front but no real traffic noise. Breakfast was good though as on holiday would have preferred later than 8 am - I think most of their visitors are working so need that early. A bit out... More
