Great value for money in the middle of Route du vin, very well located also for daily trips to Colmar, Strasbourg, the Vosges and Freiburg. The B&B is located in an ancient, charming house, very well restored: we had the smallest room, which was still absolutely adequate for our needs - beautifully decorated and plenty of facilities and amenities, which... We had some trouble finding Clos Froehn even with the Google map and the fact that Zellenberg has one street up the hill and another back down. The house is set off a square at the top of the hill with usually adequate parking if you get back early and has only a tiny little name next to the gate.... More

Martine has created a special B&B. Clos Froehn is comfortable and peaceful. I stayed in the Muscat Room, which has a spectacular view over the vineyards, a very comfortable bed, a sitting area with a desk, a large bathing tub, and t.v. (to watch the World Cup). The breakfast in the morning, served on the terrace weather permitting, hits the... More

we loved the peace & tranquility of zellenberg, even more of the B&B . . . the hostess was most charming & accomodating, the bed was extremely comfortable, and, as I say, the quiet is extraordinary . . . .we enjoyed walking around the village, just at dusk, and down thru the vineyards, listening to the birds, the only sound... If you are looking for a B & B in a centered location in Alsace region but still in a small, beautiful and peaceful village, then Clos Froehn in Zellenberg, France is your perfect choice. Very clean, beautiful location, easy access to all tourist locations in the region and great hospitality from Madam Martin, the owner. 700 years old village... More

Using this home as a base for six nights, we toured the many small towns that dot this area of Alsace. Rather than spend all our time doing the "tour de vin" by car, we also managed some considerable hiking as well; sometimes walking up to the high castles with their superb views and other times simply to the other... I arrived with my wife and 3 daughters (ages 4,9,13) to this lovely place located in Zellenberg, in the middle of Alsace, just 2 KM away from the beautiful medieval cities of Ribeauville and Riquewihr‏. This is the best location close to everything in Alsace and also close (40 minutes drive) to Europa Park in Rust, Germany. Madam Martine who... More

Very large, airy and attractively dressed room (Rose room), in marvellous setting overlooking the villages and vineyards. Breakfast was an excellent start to the day, especially if you like to have a large and wonderful home-made selection. Very friendly and close to many other villages, including Colmar. Always happy to help and give advice and suggestions for local activities. Parking... More
