We stayed for 2 nights at Clos Froehn and it was a wonderful from the moment I booked until we left. Martine is a wonderful and friendly host, nothing is too much to ask including arranging for a bottle of chilled wine to be ready for our arrival. We stayed in the Riesling Room which was refurbished over the winter... More

Stayed here for one night on the way through Alsace. As a change from the "chains" you really cannot fault this place. It s off a small square at the top of the village. Although they had road works on the way up it was easy to find somewhere to park. Large room ( even although I was on my... More

We spent 3 nights in Clos Froehn at the end of October and have only words of praise for the place and its hosts. Zellenberg is still untouched by tourism and is a charming village , so close to its more famous relatives - Riquewihr, Kayserberg. Ribeauville, Colmar. The house is charming and has an old picturesque tower. We took... More

Clos Froehn in Zellenberg was hands down our favorite B&B and probably our favorite stop in our France/Switzerland adventure. Zellenberg makes you feel like you have stepped back in time... it is quiet, serene and relaxing. Set up on a hill up above dozens of vineyards, you will find yourself lost in a Hansel and Gretel fairytale. The house Clos... More

Martine was a most charming host. We looked forward to talking with her each day. Very nice, spacious room with an adjoining living room and kitchen. Very clean and comfortable. Beautiful French breakfast served in a lovely dining room or outside in the garden. Easy walking to Riquewihr through the vineyards. Great area for walking.-a very restful vacation. Would definitely... More

Great value for money in the middle of Route du vin, very well located also for daily trips to Colmar, Strasbourg, the Vosges and Freiburg. The B&B is located in an ancient, charming house, very well restored: we had the smallest room, which was still absolutely adequate for our needs - beautifully decorated and plenty of facilities and amenities, which... We had some trouble finding Clos Froehn even with the Google map and the fact that Zellenberg has one street up the hill and another back down. The house is set off a square at the top of the hill with usually adequate parking if you get back early and has only a tiny little name next to the gate.... More

Martine has created a special B&B. Clos Froehn is comfortable and peaceful. I stayed in the Muscat Room, which has a spectacular view over the vineyards, a very comfortable bed, a sitting area with a desk, a large bathing tub, and t.v. (to watch the World Cup). The breakfast in the morning, served on the terrace weather permitting, hits the... More

we loved the peace & tranquility of zellenberg, even more of the B&B . . . the hostess was most charming & accomodating, the bed was extremely comfortable, and, as I say, the quiet is extraordinary . . . .we enjoyed walking around the village, just at dusk, and down thru the vineyards, listening to the birds, the only sound... If you are looking for a B & B in a centered location in Alsace region but still in a small, beautiful and peaceful village, then Clos Froehn in Zellenberg, France is your perfect choice. Very clean, beautiful location, easy access to all tourist locations in the region and great hospitality from Madam Martin, the owner. 700 years old village... More
