On arrival the staff were friendly, helpful and spoke english. We needed two rooms but only one was available at the hotel. However, the owners had a second room available at their own dwelling which was very welcome but the mattresses did have a slightly stale smell and we did feel slightly awkward staying there. I had my first meal and drinks in the restaurant at this family run hotel in 1975, when it was Herr Joseph Wilms at the helm. We had stayed at this hotel in 1980 and wanted to return to the area for old time sake. Needless to say, physically a lot had changed since our last visit.
