Our last stay here was memorable! This time around, the owners, Béné and Freddy were suoerb, period! This is an oasis in the middle of a lovely village (Olonzac), yet, from our ''gite'' you are in the country! Fantastic! There are excellent restaurants and bars, like PUB LE FRANCE, available one block away! You are 5 minutes away from the... More

Stayed here only for one night and it is a wonderful quirky B&B. Laid back but professional and the garden is a joy. Didn't have the time for the pool but it looked lovely and we left before breakfast service but enjoyed a complimentary late night glass of very excellent red wine in the garden with the owner. It is... More

There seems to be a competition developing amongst gite guests as to who has visited/stayed most often. It is the combination of gites for 2, plus pool, garden etc, with the ease of being in a market town that suits . I am almost reluctant to co tinue to praise it again in case ot is fully booked next year.

A friend and I recently spent a week at Eloi Merle, having been tempted by the reviews we had seen and wanting somewhere in that area as a base to see some of the area. We stayed in the end gite (it had it's own private patio) beside the pool and it had everything you needed and the bottle of... More

Fantastic interior, such a pleasure to stay in such a beautifully decorated traditional French house. The room was huge, lovely linen, towels etc and the little extras (kettle, decaf coffee) made the difference. Great pool (we neve made it as Far as the jacuzzi), lovely gardens and welcoming hosts. The fact that the breakfast (great choice of bread, cheese, meat,... More

My wife and I - along with many other people we've mentioned this place to - have been going to Eloi Merle for several years. Just a delightful experience as the owners, Béné and Freddie are just excellent hosts! We always stay in one of the gites, next to the pool and spa in the spacious garden. You are in... More

Very French – and all the best parts! Large interesting former wine-maker’s house, with plenty of character. Proprietors Bene and Freddie work hard to make you welcome – and the breakfasts are superb. Recently renovated in traditional French style. Homely atmosphere. We’ve stayed there a number of times over many years. Highly recommended.

We were bicycling in Languedoc, and our day trip took us through Olonzac. It was the one night we hadn't figured out where we were staying. We popped into this little hotel, and they were surprised to see anyone, as it was an off-season Tuesday. We talked them into renting us a room, which was absolutely great. What a nice... More

Visited this year in September , still hot enought to enjoy the pool and al fresco dining. Fun to see all the activities associated with the new wines. As always bene and freddy ensure that if you ever had any problems or questions they do their upmost to help. I'm sure we will return for a sixth visit , this... More

Eloi Merle looks like one's typical fantasy French home from the front - blue shutters, ironwork and a shaded courtyard. Inside it smells of wood polish and freshly washed linen. Our room was at the top over the street. It was a large bed, there were 2 good sized wardrobes, a marble fireplace and tea and coffee to make. The... More
