The hotel is a totally rebuilt colonial house, but it still preserves all its charm. Especially because the owner has spent a lot of time and effort fixing every detail of the decoration (a bit kitsch). It's a bit pricey if compared with other options (e.g. La Eliana, which would be my alternative recommendation), but it's totally worth it. Moreover,... More

Beautiful old colonial house set at the top of the hill in Salento. It's seriously old school- creaky and old fashioned but with lots of charm. Great choice if you want... More

This place is pretty good but overpriced. The place itselft has a historic setting but the logistics are weird. There's not a lot of privacy. I was also woken by a barking dog at 4 in the morning which should have been taken care of before hand. On the plus side the breakfast was pretty good.

Staying here was an opportunity to step back and live in history. The house is filled with the artifacts and possessions relating to a bye gone era, yet still manages to provide hot water, strong showers and access to a kitchen for the modern necessities of 2012 living. The house is situated on a hill so arrange to have your... More

My girlfriend and I stayed at La Casa Alto del Coronel in Salento, Colombia February 14th-February 18th, 2011. La Casa sits atop a hill with an excellent view of the small town of Salento, Colombia. The accommodations were quite exceptional, and more than we expected. Our suite included double beds, a sitting room, and a private bath with 24-7 hot... More
