What a wonderful place to stay to visit the Dordogne. The room was spacious, the food superb and the hosts very nice and helpful. We really wished we had stayed longer (and especially enjoyed more of their cooking!). Highly recommended for anyone visiting the region.

We enjoyed our stay very much. Our room was beautiful, Marie-Laure and Gérard are very friendly hosts, they are helpful with planning trips in the area, breakfast and dinner are excellent. Maison de Marquay is a peaceful place. We will come back for sure!

It's so hard to add anything new to the reviews of this B&B, so I will give my view, which is probably repetitive. Big, comfortable rooms, lovely large home, small village, beautiful rural countryside, close to other wonderful valleys and villages and great prehistoric caves sites and museum. The prices are reasonable and the breakfasts are so large and varied... More

Don't hesitate to book this place! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Maison de Marquay. We had a suite which was beautifully decorated with stylish antiques and excellent value for money. Marie-Laure and Gerard did everything in their power to ensure our stay was a wonderful experience, including recommending itineraries for antique and brocante hunting. We discovered some beautiful... More

This is an absolutely wonderful small hotel and fantastic value for money. The rooms are very large, more like suites and well equipped and comfortable. The garden and pool area are very pretty and the breakfast is sensational, about 6 courses! It is difficult to think of any negatives except tiny details like needing more hangers in the cupboard (I'm... More

This is a jewel among peers on "les beaux rivages" website. Marie-Laure and Gerard are wonderful, efficient (but never slick) and complementary hosts, who clearly gain genuine pleasure from interaction with their guests. Marie-Laure circulates round the breakfast and dinner tables with sovereign grace, but also plenty of humour. Gerard's cooking is not to be missed, truly top-notch, and his... More

A wonderful place to stay The proprietors are a truly delightful couple who revel in making things just perfect. Gerard is also the chef and one of an exceptional standard Marie Laure is a sommelier whose knowledge of wine is a wonder to behold. My wife,Leigh, and I couldnt believe our luck at finding such a shangrila. Go there -... More

My fiancé and I had a wonderful stay. We could not recommend Masion de Marquay more. The rooms are charming, the breakfasts were delicious (the homemade yogurt is to die for) and the pool and garden are a welcome oasis. The location was ideal for exploring nearby towns (Sarlat) and we had such a lovely stay. Book now!

My wife and I stayed at this lovely boutique hotel in June 2015. It was one of the best places we have ever stayed. The property is beautifully designed (attention to detail in decoration in every room and hall of the hotel is stunning). The rooms are spacious and elegant. Marie-Laure and Girard who own and run La Maison are... More

Staying at the Maison de Marquay is a wonderful experience. Marie-Laure and Girard, the couple who run this small hotel clearly love their work and their guests. They make you feel welcome and at home, and, notably, they are there when you need them and invisible when you don’t! The Maison is small—perhaps five rooms-- and very well appointed. Each... More
