The B&B is a large stone-built house set in a shady garden in the tiny village of Manvieux, 2 km from Arromanches. Our room was spacious, clean and had a "lounge" area and separate bathroom and toilet. We also had wifi, and a little balcony overlooking the courtyard and a view of the church. Breakfast is served at a communal... More

We were not disappointed with our second visit to this quaint B&B and were greeted like old friends by the owners, two sisters who run this B&B. The rooms and the bathrooms are very large by French standards and are clean with comfortable beds. Breakfast is delicious with home made brioche, yogurt and jams to accompany coffee, juice and french... More

This hotel was in a great location to explore the DDay area. The town is incredibly small. There really isn't anything in the local vicinity in terms of food. It was only about a 15 minute drive to the bigger city of Bayeux. We had a great meal in Bayeux after a long day of touring all the DDay sights.... More

Immediate impression was, "Why does this place get all the enthusiastic reviews?" Our room was spacious but very sparsely furnished. Beds and bathroom are clean but spiderwebs in the corners and peeling wallpaint give an uncomfortable feeling to the room. The biggest problem was the dampness, which made the stay in the room REALLY unpleasant. WiFi only worked outside the... More

I visited the Normandy Beaches area for a tour and to visit some of the nearby museums/sites. I recommend that if you are doing the same stay either in the Bayeux, Avromanches or near Manvieux (which is in the middle). Manvieux is a one horse village with about a dozen houses and a church. La Gentilhommiere is in a small... More

Lovely Norman house, rooms very cozy. We awoke each morning to the church bells at 7:00 and the smell of brioche baking in the oven. My husband nearly proposed to "Madame" and I admit she put me to shame with her beautifully appointed breakfast table with homemade jam, yogurt, orange juice, and brioche. The B&B is about 10 minutes from... More

Hosts were very helpful and nice. Room was excellent. We stayed in a very large room for a good price on the bottom floor, had a private outside entrance, and was designed for a family since it had one large bed, with a small twin bed in a seperate room, and also had a baby crib. Very clean, very spacious,... More

This b&b is in need of an update. The baths appeared to have been updated, but everything else was old. Our blankets were something I would have thrown out years ago. The wallpaper was coming off the walls. The location was beautiful and near beaches to visit. No amenities, bare bones. Breakfast was 2 kinds of bread, jam and yogurt,... More
