We booked Blackbird Cottage for my wife and I and my Mum and Dad. The cottage is extremely well appointed with 3 bedrooms all with ensuite, and was very clean and included a welcome basket of essentials. We enjoyed our stay tremendously despite the poor weather, and would highly recommend to those looking for a rural getaway. Will definitely book... More

This relates to "Owl cottage" The complex is tranquil and clean, the garden space is individual and well cared for. The cottage however is dated and tired and isn't the 5* luxury accommodation as advertised. We told the Managers of a bees nest in the outside cavity over the second bedroom that buzzed 24 hrs a day- nothing was concluded while... More

I was about to review this property on our return from our weekend break. I read the previous review which I was unaware of at the time of our visit. We have been home four days, our two children and two adults spent plenty of time in the pool and we have all been fine. Maybe the pool has been... More

We stayed in the farmhouse, which was fine, tired in places and the front door didn't close. Our concern is with the response to 4 of our 5 children becoming very ill with a vomiting bug, all of whom were the swimmers in the group. As we shared everything else, food etc. we alerted the owner as the pool water... More

We stayed in The Barn for a family Birthday get together. There were 3 couples, 5 children and Granny. The bedrooms were spacious, it was bigger than expected from the photos. The pool was great, the kids loved it. My only criticism would be that the dinner table wasn't big enough for 12 people, although we did all manage to... More

We stayed in one of the Champernhayes cottages for three nights recently and enjoyed our stay very much. The cottages, barn and farmhouse comprising the estate are tucked away down long winding Dorset lanes which were looking lovely in their Autumn colours but were still within easy reach of Charmouth and nearby towns like Lyme Regis ( a favourite of... We were warmly welcomed by the owner, Terry, on our arrival and given a tour of the cottage (the Farmhouse) and the pool facilities. A wonderful cottage that thoroughly deserves its 5-star rating! Tucked away down peaceful country lanes and yet within easy access of Charmouth and Lyme Regis. Thanks also to Alan and his wife, the managers - who... More

We had a short stay in the Champernhayes Swallow Cottage recently and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The cottage is well equipped, comfortable and set in very peaceful surroundings. The jacuzzi was great after a hard day of walking, eating and drinking. The wireless worked perfectly (unusual in this kind of property in my experience) and the staff got the balance... More

We hired virtually the whole complex and were blessed with the first decent weather of the year. The Barn and Farmhouse are without doubt the superior properties but each of the others is also perfectly equipped for a comfortable stay. Excellent location providing ample opportunities for walking and sightseeing, within easy reach (by car if you're old fogies like us)... More
