The positives - slept like a log on both nights here. While on the second night the people in the pub garden were quite loud - we were in the annexe - once they left a wonderful silence descended. Dinner, which we had at the Brace on our second night, was good. The negatives - wasn't too keen on having... More

We planned to visit this out of the way pub, after getting lost we eventually found it. It was well worth the trip. Very remote pub the Brace of Pheasants at Plush in wildest Dorset a real one horse town with only one singletrack road through it but what a gem of a pub Food excellent,Cider excellent and very friendly... Location is great however the accomodation itself was overpriced and the place is desperately in need of re-decorating. Our room was in the main building, and did not look as inviting as it did on the website. The carpet was stained and there was paint peeling off the wall in the bathroom due to dampness. The windows were dirty and... More

I met my parents here for lunch. The pub is in a lovely location. The beer garden was very nice and the outside rooms for B&B looked stylish and new in decor. In the inside of the pub though was very disappointing. The carpet looked like it had been in place for about 20 years and plenty of beer split... More

Stayed two nights in one of the rooms behind this small country pub. Blissfully quiet and rural. The room was fresh and modern with a large shining bathroom. Even a heated towel rail. Very comfortable overall and the pub is in the middle of beautiful countryside. The most outstanding thing were the two evening meals, truly good ,cooking, a real... More

We booked for two nights in one of the skittle alley rooms. The room was a little small with just one small window to the front, but for a what we needed it was ideal (HUGE bath tub for ones who like a soak!!). The bar/restaurant area was traditional in décor and some might say a little dated, but again... More

We chose the Brace as a central point for exploring the Piddle Valley. Well what a find. Accommodation was 5* and the food, atmosphere and general ambience were truly wonderful. Full of history and nestling in a lovely location well off the beaten track the Brace is a perfect location to get away from it and indulge yourself.

Found at last minute as let down by another hotel. Tucked away in a side valley of the river Piddle lies Plush, the hamlet that hosts the Brace of Pheasants. A thatched pub/hotel full of history, character and charm and coupled with great hospitality. Lovely rooms above the bar (others available in the former skittle alley overlooking the garden retreat).... More

We had three nights here, which we enjoyed very much. The area is very quiet and relaxing with a lovely wak from the hotel, on which we saw a badger in a field in the afternoon sunshine, it made our day. Our room was in the old skittle alley, it was very nicely furnished, but it was dark with only... More

We made a last minute booking for a night away and stumbled across the Brace of Pheasants at Plush - what a find! This place is so full of character and charm. The restaurant retains all its original feel but serves delicious locally sourced food and the staff are all friendly and welcoming. The accommodation is a combination of quaint... More
