The Brace of Pheasants (in a glass case in the breakfast room) is a thatched roofed pub with 8 rooms. We had room 6 over the bar, reached via a steep staircase. We are short so no problem. Very nicely decorated & furnished with a large double bed, freesat TV, free wifi & a large ensuite bathroom with the most... More

Visited the Brace of Pheasants with friends for a couple of nights. Nice rooms but noisy at night from something mechanical outside, air con unit? The place needs freshening up outside. Food OK when the chef was on but not great otherwise. Lovely area but isolated so would probably go somewhere better placed next time. Staff very friendly and accommodating.... More

Stayed here for one night with my girlfriend. Beautiful pub/restaurant/hotel in lovely quaint hamlet. The room was clean and comfortable - new carpets, bed, bathroom fittings etc., yet all in keeping with the nature of the old building. Extremely peaceful, there was nothing to prevent an excellent night's sleep. A really powerful shower, and new towels, shampoo, etc. all provided.... More

My husband and I stayed for a couple of nights recently. Beautiful location, the Landlord and staff very welcoming and friendly. However the pub itself is rather tired and rundown, finances could be an issue but it costs nothing to weed the paths and driveway and wash outside furniture. Our room was comfortable, very comfy bed but we were kept... More

The Brace is a lovely thatched pub in the middle of nowhere. The rooms are very well appointed and comfortable. Our dinner was superb, as was breakfast. Very friendly staff, nothing was too much trouble. There is a great atmosphere in this pub. We will be back!

We spent a Sunday night here as a special treat. The inn is an extremely picturesque pub serving beer direct from the barrel in a village of outstanding beauty. Rooms are pleasant and the welcome warm. The restaurent appears to be the main focus of the pub, is clrarly popular and has an excellent reputation. We found it disappointing therefore... More

I stayed at the Brace of Pheasants for one night with my boyfriend and we wished we'd stayed here longer! We ate in the pub for our evening meal and it was a lovely meal. We stayed in room 3 which was beautifully decorated, clean and had a lovely farmhouse vibe to it. The bathroom was amazing too, with the... More

Just spent two nights in room 2 set in the annexe. Room was very nice with a super, big bed and the biggest bath I've ever seen.. We ate in the pub both nights and the food was top drawer. There's a blackboard menu of specials and a standard menu. My wife and I chose from both and were pleased... More

Thank goodness places like this still exist! It lifted my spirits. We checked in yesterday afternoon, as we were at a party in the area last night. The setting is truly beautiful, peaceful and tucked away. The pub has not been 'done' and all the better for that. The landlord offered a warm and efficient welcome, the fire was lit... More

its quite secluded but is a beautiful place to stay, we stayef in a room in the cottage, the interior decor is stunning and modern and the bath was amazing, me and my hubby both fitted in with plenty of room! drinks are fairly priced, food was quite pricey so we ate out a few miles down the road, staff...
