Tea and cake on arrival after a long days walking, huge room with stunning views comfy bed and then a lift to the pub and back for our evening meal. Breakfast very good. Hilary fully understands the needs of walkers and is a pleasant, well organised and informative host.

We stayed here on Saturday evening, a booking made quickly as we needed a break. Hilary was lovely to deal with on the phone to make the booking and was brilliant when we arrived. We quickly settled in and enjoyed coffee and cake on the terrace looking at the wonderful views all around. We felt like we are in a... More

Brownber Hall was by far and away the best b&b us 3 hardy walkers visited during our coast to coast walk in May 2014. The owners are delightful, the house is beautiful and the facilities superb. The price was excellent value. If I ever return to that part of the world I intend to stay there with my wife, I... More

A nice friendly warm welcome with tea and cake. Wonderful location. Nice rooms. Meals arranged a nearby pubs and lifts provided there and back. Very good breakfast. Offers of using the landline as not very good mobile signals.

This is a very lovely place to stay. The house itself is beautiful and the grounds and setting are beautiful. It is away from crowds and noise and was a lovely place to rest while doing the coast to coast walk. Hilary was a gracious and she and her husband arranged our meals at nearby pubs giving us rides to... More

What a lovely place! Arrived here after a particularly wet walk from Shap (had to divert off the main C2C route due to having a dog and thank goodness we did!) and were welcomed warmly by Hilary and Drew -they took all our wet things from us and dried them overnight and then we had afternoon tea (cake was wonderful)... Nothing was too much trouble, the breakfast was freshly prepared and excellent. We had a lovely couple of days and would definitely be going back there and recommending Brownber Hall to... More
