The Dundas Arms sits conveniently at the half-way marker-point of our cycle ride from London to Glastonbury. The location of the pub could not be bettered, set as it is on a small spit of land between the canal and the river and with its own railway station offering direct services to London. We were tired, hot and dusty when... More

Located near to Kintbury train station on the banks of the canal. Our room was a good size and located to the side of the pub on a tributary riverbank, with a small waterside terrace separated from the terrace next door by a fencing panel. You have access to your terrace via French doors from your room and a small... More

Arrived on a warm, sunny evening with the intention of enjoying a meal in the beautiful garden with our children. My husband walked over to young waitress at the outside bar to inquire if they were serving food & she curtly advised they would be taking orders at 6pm. 'No problem' husband says 'can we order some drinks and crisps... More

I visited with my wife on what seemed a fairly quiet Friday evening but discovered that already at 7.30pm the kitchen was lagging behind the orders. We waited for an hour trying to order but was told that the kitchen was not accepting orders and then left to frequent the considerably superior and prepared Blue Ball. This is a tragedy... More

Like a few others on here, I have popped into this pub every-now-and-then over the years. Until last week my last visit was at the beginning of the year. And it was lovely, made especially so by the then management and staff he had surrounded himself with. Not so now. The staff could not be more disinterested... when you can... More

Three of us arrived for a meal without reservation early Friday evening. No problem arranging a table, but bar service unbelievably slow. They advertise Bloody Mary, but didn't seem to know 'where the mix is'. Food was good, but expensive for what it was. The two ladies working in the restaurant were very good and helpful, but frustrated, I suspect,... More

Oh no, no, no, no, no.... Where have all the charm, good service, good food and lovely staff gone from the Dudas Arms? I haven't been for about a year, so to celebrate the lovely weather, couldn't think of anywhere better than the wonderful garden at the Dundas. So we arrived about 2.30, enquired about food and were given the... More

Thank you for your feedback. It was a very busy day for us and whilst we thought we had planned for the expected volume of business, this was a lot higher on the day. We are working to ensure future customers do not have a similar experience with improved systems and recruiting for a larger team. More

Six of us stayed the night before a fishing trip up the road and were very well looked after. The evening meal was enjoyable and satisfying and so was the next mornings breakfast (only one very small complaint - change your tea brand for something a bit stronger!) The cooking is certainly a cut above and all the dishes sounded... More

Hope you had a successful fishing trip and glad you enjoyed your stay with us. We are lucky to have a fantastic team in the kitchen and they work hard to produce creative dishes. Come back soon for some more fresh air and a good night’s sleep. More

Stayed one night in May while walking the canal path. Excellent location alongside the canal and close to the station if needed. Good choice of beers in friendly bar and top rate dinner. Bedroom had all facilities needed including earplugs if the bar became noisy!! Good breakfast too. Felt the staff were trying too hard to promote themselves as hotel... More

Three couples stayed for a few nights from 17th May. Good food, excellent service, all overseen by hard working and charming Emily, who apparently has only recently started work there. Best rooms are at back facing the river and sharing the patio with the ducks! Only criticism is that drinks and wine are , in my view, overpriced.
