We stopped here for Sunday lunch on our way to Newbury. The location was very pleasant being alongside the canal walk, which we made use of after lunch. We had beef blade with Yorkshire etc and a beef and ale pie. Both were served promptly and had nice gastronomic touches, the mash coloured with beetroot for example. The room was... More

Spent 1 night with my husband as visiting friends in the area. Lovely room chosen with patio access to canal with gorgeous bed and immaculate bathroom. Staff very helpful and attentive, really nice touch to have fresh milk instead of UHT however when hubby asked for some ready for the morning advised it would be left outside the door for... More

Spent Christmas day with the extended family in a private room at the Dundas. Amazing location, fantastic service, and the private room was a must with 4 kids...However...The turkey was dry, the vegetables were overcooked, and the food was pretty average. Not bad - but for what we paid I would have expected more than just average. Close but no... More

I am sorry that the food did not meet expectation, but hope that the day was still enjoyed by the family. The team worked very hard that day in particular to ensure guests had a good time, I will make sure they know it was noticed. More

I stayed here for a night with some family and friends as a celebration for our anniversary. I have to say from the moment we arrived till we left the following day the service was absolutely brilliant. The rooms were very good and lots of facilities. The food was excellent and the deco with a lovely log fire was amazing.... More

Yes the Dundas Arms is a good place to stay with friendly staff. We couldn't use the bath as it filled up with sand?! Boiler out of control apparently. Very comfortable bed great breakfast. Thanks we had a relaxing time with friends.

The setting is so gorgeous and the pub really makes the most of it. I've been several times this year and although the service can be slow, as others have said, the staff are great in my experience. The house wine is delicious, especially the red, and the food is always enjoyable (the chocolate mouse in great and my two... More

Thank you for the review, glad you have enjoyed the food on the whole, apologies if the bread was stale. We do produce are own on site, but this does not exempt it from getting stale and this should not have been served. This has been noted and fed back to the kitchen. More

Excellent country pub, set in an idyllic location. Food was very good we had the scotch egg and game pie, my sister had the roast and said it was one of the best she'd had at a restaurant! Thoroughly recommend

The bedroom is very big and elegantly decorated - very good value for the price. The breakfast is excellent, with a good variety of choices, served in the nice restaurant. We also had dinner there the night before. Good food, freshly prepared. A bit expensive for a pub style place, but still very good.

Just returned from a weekend break here with friends. We found the Inn, situated in an idyllic location, served first class food. Emily and her staff were friendly and efficient and the accommodation was excellent. We all agreed we would be happy to stay again!
