A lovely evening out with a big group of local friends...we were the only customers sitting in the garden. At 10.50 two of us bought 2 bottles of wine at which point we were informed "this is last orders". At 11.10 we were told "ok it's time to leave". no.."please come inside to finish your drinks" or "please finish up... More

This is a Pub with Rooms. It is not managed like a hotel. The rooms are comfortable and spacious but you may not have a plug in the basin, soap or shampoo or a hair dryer. The toilet seat may be broken, the ashtray on the veranda full up with several weeks of fag ends and areas of the room... More

Spent a couple of days at this pub. On arrival they could not find our booking. Sorted this out and taken to our room which was adequate. Now to the worst part, the food. On the first evening we ordered our meals. These did not come as ordered although we had confirmed what we wanted twice with the staff.. The steaks... More

Visited a few years ago, place looks really nice now it has been renovated. Staff not overly friendly but lovely location. I ordered a mozzarella salad. When it arrived my husband thought I had ordered a starter, few pieces of mozzarella and a few tomatoes with a teaspoon of pest. Had done a 25 mile bike ride so was very... More

We (a party of 6) fly fish near the hotel and have had breakfast at the Dundas Arms for the last 5 years. The pub has been refurbished from the mess that it was previously but the service and staff have not improved. Last year we were greeted with "oh, you lot must the walk-ins" and this year were served... More

I spent a night in this hotel at the end of February and was delighted when a business trip meant I could return to enjoy the beautiful situation by the canal on an early summer's evening. The beautiful situation was of course unchanged but the room was a total disappointment compared to my previous visit. I had, for example, been... More

Lovely location on the canal, beautiful gardens and very convenient for the A34/M4. Buildings in need of renovation and the inside is a bit scruffy and dirty, busy Sunday lunch and the toilets were filthy with no towels and no soap. We were a bit concerned about the overall cleanliness so just ordered a couple of simple dishes to try,... More

I booked three rooms for two nights for family who were visiting for wedding. £875.00!! The hotel is beautiful and our particular room was identical to the picture above with a patio next to the river. They messed up the rooms and my daughter, who arrived quite late with two sleeping children, had to wait for two blow up beds... More

Joined some friends here on Friday evening. Food was lovely, the chips that came with the haddock and chips were wonderful as was the haddock. Also the sandwiches were really good and the meal on saturday evening. The garden was really nice. Found a bit pricey , service was slow and didn't agree with the service charge for sandwich and... Visited with a friend last evening and decided to have a bite to eat as well. We were looking for a sharing platter but there was nothing on the menu that covered that. With advise from friendly and helpful barman I ordered 3 starters and I thought we could pad it out with a large bowl of chips😃 the tiny... More
