This is a character old-style pub in a very quiet mining town in Tasmania. The town itself is worth a trip, it has a small gorge running through the middle of it with a waterfall. When we visited the town was looking very pretty and well kept, but did have the air of a living museum about it. While there... More

One stayed one night. Double room and shared bathrooms were clean and we had a working tv in room. Mattress in the room was old and tired meaning you'd roll to the middle. Breakfast was white bread, instant coffee and Special K. You can order hot meals but the dinner the night before was stodgy so didn't bother. Would I... More

We stayed in the Spa room which looks out over the water fall. If you open the window you can hear the sound of the water fall wofting in. The room itself is spacious with great period features and furniture. Unfortunately the room has some rising damp and the room probably should have been aired, however opening the window and... dropped in here for a coffee, the coffee was made with an odd milk, maybe coronation milk. Had a nice bacon and egg roll. The service was unusual, not unpleasant. The toilets were locked, readily opened by request. Lovely location in interesting spot. old property with interesting features, worth a look perhaps

It's like walking back in time rooms are quaint beds a bit lumpy meals And staff were excellent only disappointing thing is you have to pay for breakfast the night before which we did but when we went down for breakfast in the morning at 800 no one was around so we had to start the day with no breakfast... This is our third stay, Lou and Bev couldn't have been more helpful, even though we were the only guests the last two stays... Generous home-cooked meals, dated but comfortable room, good wine selection.

Hubby and I happened upon this place by sheer chance...started as an 'investment property' trip, and ended up chasing snow! Missed the best part of it, but fate has a way of working itself out. Had an awesome time chatting with Lew & Bev, so much so we ended up having to overnight it or risk potential damage to the... More

We stayed in a double room with shared facilities. Room was not big but more than adequate for us and the shared facilities were close by and clean. Warm and plenty of hot water. It is an old hotel but nevertheless, very comfortable. An adequate continental breakfast was provided in the shared facilities kitchen. Great. We ate in the hotel... More

My husband and I stayed here for one night during an impromptu getaway to Tasmania. I have to say, overall we couldn't have been happier with our stay. The room was clean and comfortable, the accommodation was affordable, and Lou and Bev couldn't have been better hosts. They were so welcoming and pleasant from the moment we arrived to the... More
