My 12 year-old daughter and I decided to take a March break vacation with the friendly folks at Rancho Los Banos earlier this year. Because of her horse jumping competition schedule, we had to restrict our stay to only four nights/three days. In retrospect, I would have liked to stay longer -- we had an amazing time! Even me, who... More

We were quite a twosome: Me, the horse crazy mexicophile from Arizona and my Boston riding friend and history buff, who had never been out of the country, but on hearing we'd be riding over [once] Apache territory became as impatient as I was to spend our annual riding adventure at Rancho los Baños, a 30,000 acre ranch at the... Los Banos is an extraordinary place. Arrived with an agenda to improve my riding confidence and to enjoy the peace of the wilderness (oh and play cowboy :-)). my mother came with me to enjoy the wildlife. I'm glad that we came in the monsoon season. I suppose that it's low season because of the rain and the high temperatures... More

I booked this trip after much research as a surprise for my daughter's bat mitzvah gift. She is an avid equestrian and I decided a mother /daughter bonding adventure involving her favorite thing would be a memorable gift. I knew going in it was "authentic" and would not be like the dude ranches my friends visited in the US, but... More

While researching something different to do for Spring Break, we came across Los Banos Ranch in Mexico. We travelled with our 4 kids, ranging in age from 17 to 10. Attending the Ranch at the same time was a family from Massachusets, and a group from England. Our kids had a blast getting to know people with such different backgrounds... More

My wife and I were looking for something different and started researching ranches in the southern US and Mexico. When we saw the ranch's ads we started to think it might be a good fit for us, and was it ever! Where to start? Well, the riding and scenery is outstanding. This should be the real reason you come here.... More

We were picked up at 9:30 after a huge breakfast at the Yatt Place at the Tucson Airport. We walked for about 45 minutes and waited for our ride with Ramon of Garcia Taxi. It was a 2 hour drive to Douglas/Prieta crossing. We passed through Cochise County. On the way we passed Tombstone with Boot Hill. Driving down the... More

Yes, it's a schlep to get there but it's totally worth the experience. Manolo, Manuel, and Jill are wonderful people and caring hosts. Normally rides are 5 hours long, but Diego shortened ours to 4 due to our experience level. My husband and I were concerned about reactions to our nontraditional family (2 dads and a 7 year old girl)... More
