We have stayed at La Tana several times. Alessandra and Sergio are wonderful host. The rooms are very nice, the food is great and the wine is excellent. To stay in a small hill top town like this is a unique experience. Highly recommend La Tana to people that like something different and a little adventure.

The establishment is housed above a deep cellar carved into the Tufo rock and which is filled with many vintages of Sergio Mottura`s champagnes. The owners are delightful and provide outstanding accommodation and a restaurant which is just beyond description, wonderful wines from the nearby Mottura estate and eat-as-much-as-u-can dishes typical of the area - altogether the very best experience... We stayed here on our first night in Italy. Once we found the town and remembered to drive through the old archway into the piazza, we were amazed to see la Tana. The owner/proprietors greeted us and showed us to our spacious and nicely appointed rooms. We were provided with must see suggestions, and reminded to return for dinner. We... More

Very happy to be upgraded to a suite overlooking the square, only to be told that as we were the only guests (last Saturday in August) the restaurant was shut. We ended up in the only available place within walking distance and had a perfectly decent pizza, but we had selected the hotel because of its restaurant. We had been... More

We stayed here for 3 nights en route to Tuscany and for another night on the way back. We were upgraded to a suite which was wonderful with traditional decor. We had dinner here twice which gave us an opportunity to try a range of our hosts' internationally renowned and prize winning wines. If you like your wine and enjoy... More

La Tana has been my favorite spot for nearly a decade, to relax in the Italian countryside. This boutique hotel has just 11 large rooms, well appointed, spotless, comfortable beds, soft linens, ecologically compatible. The estate, an organic winery, with internationally award winning wines, is run by an Italian couple who represent an old style, genteel manner of hosting that... More

We absolutely loved this small hotel which is in an old town off the beaten path about an hour and a half from Rome and 20min(?) from Orvieto. The rooms are large and nicely appointed and the grand old building is lovely. But the best part of it all was that we were looked after by such gracious hosts, Sergio... More

Lovely hotel with a warm and inviting staff. Tha food is to die for and the wine is incredible. The owners are always on site and go out of their way to make you feel at home. The location is perfect for day trips and the hotel owners have connections to great guides in the area that will make your... More

Come to this lovely town and be greeted at this villa by Allesandra, your charming hostess. Enjoy wine dinners, as award winning winemaster Sergio pores his own old world crafted wines, cellared on the premises. This is total comfort and serenity. The wines are fantastic. We will surely return.

Good friends have raved about this perfect small hotel that is ideally located an hour north of Rome. Everything we had heard about La Tana exceeded our expectations. Sergio and Alessandra welcomed and treated us like family. The rooms are large and very comfortable. And don't even think about asking for a local restaurant. The food is superb and Sergio... More
