Thank you for the lovely stay! The rooms were clean and comfortable. Donald and Isobel were were such friendly people and it was nice to hear their stories about their life here, which is so different from ours. Thnx again! A happy Belgian guest

Very cosy place with lovely people. Donald used to be a hunter and has great stories. They both do it with utter love for their guests. Made us feel right at home with the care they took of us! Erwin en Odile

We stayed at Kentraw Farmhouse for 4 nights in March. The house itself is quite new and seemingly purpose-built, with a nice mix of modernity and cosiness. We stayed in Room 2 (the master suite) which was enormous, in spotless condition and with a very comfy (and huge) bed. Breakfast was similarly excellent. The location is a slight juxtaposition of... Four of us booked all 4 rooms at the Kentraw Farmhouse on a visit to Islay to play golf at The Machrie. Having had previous mixed experiences at the Machrie Hotel and Cottages (now closed for major upgrading),I was very pleased with the excellent quality of accommodation and attention to detail that Donald and Isabel do to ensure that my... As part of a family discovery trip to the Isle of Islay during the low season, we had the chance to stay at Donald James and Isabel's lovely place. There are no words strong enough to describe their kindness and impeccable hospitality. Not to mention the quality of their service. Combined with the remote and quiet environment (yet the location... More

A long overdue review. My wife and I visited Scotland, and Islay for our honeymoon. We booked with Isabel over the internet and were unsure of what to expect. It ended up being everything we wanted and more - to the point we stayed an extra night. Right from our arrival we were made to feel welcome. The farmhouse is... More

Isobel and Donald were two of the most hospitable, kind and generous hosts. Set in a gorgeous farm house that perfectly compliments the breathtaking country side and beach views. The rooms were modestly furnished with luxury beds and heated tiles in bathrooms which were both spotlessly clean. Isobel's superb breakfasts were a true highlight. Coffee and teas limitlessly provided. We... More

Stayed here with my Girlfriend for 3 nights in the Low season. Such friendly owners (Donald and Isobel) took amazing care of us at their beautiful little B&B! Just a short drive away from Bowmore and Bridgend with one of the local buses driving right past the property a few times daily. So helpful with everything, from offering to call... More

Very warm and cosy bedroom. Excellent showers. Good quality Wifi. Wet cycling clothes dried. Bikes stored in the shed away from elements. Roaring fire. Breakfast in the huge kitchen. Excellent value for money. Were also very generously driven into Port Charlotte. A professional and welcoming outfit. Friendly owners.

This was a very short trip to Islay on business, which was frustrated with landslides and traffic delays. I arrived very late and received a very warm welcome from Donald & Isobel despite the late hour and having to leave very early as well. Isobel insisted that she would get up and make me my breakfast. This genuine hospitality is... More
