Beautiful setting. The room was pristine. Attention to detail. Friendly hosts. Everything freshly painted and new. Fluffy white towels, 3 ply toilet paper, nice bath, crisp linnen, beautiful view. Lovely location on islay with a small shop and 4 restaurants close by and a whisky distillery next door! We were a bit unsure as to what to expect for accomodation... More

An Taigh Osda is everything my husband and I look for on holiday but don't always find. But this hotel doesn't disappoint. Its run by the owners, Paul and Joan, who provide immaculate accomodation, beautiful views, top class service and amazing food (we like our food!). We are home rested & revived and with a new interest - Islay Malts.... More

There may be other excellent small hotels on Islay but the An Taigh Osda is hard to beat! The furnishings and decor are top quality and all spotlessly clean. Food first class. Breakfast had lovely choices and cooked to perfection. Dinner was 3 course and coffee for £40 and worth every penny. The views accross the bay to the Paps... More

We booked two rooms for three nights each twelve months ago. We received written confirmation and told we would be contacted early in the new year about a deposit. We never heard anything from them and arrived at Islay and found no one there. We rang and spoke to the owners who said they had emailed us six times and... More

This booking was made one year in advance and a deposit was to be paid in March 2014. The booking was cancelled by us on 5th February 2014 when we were invited to a wedding in Poland. Six emails were sent to the reviewers travelling companion, who had made the booking, no reply was received from him. We had checked... More

We read the reviews and decided to treat ourselves to a long weekend and I am glad we did it was first class. We stayed in room 4 with its lovely views and comfortable beds. We didn't eat there the first night but did on the second and it was great. For some £40 might seem a lot for dinner... More

I have stayed here a few times since 2010. My recent 3 night stay in July was as good as the others. This is real quality establishment with every detail having been attended to. The rooms are bright and fresh with superb en-suite facilities and most with spectacular views. The decor was fresh with clean quality white towels and the... More

The Islay whiskys were not to my taste (or price) but I can confidently say that An Taigh Osda would suit everyone. The hosts could not have been more helpful and the food quality and presentation were excellent. (I only wish we could have had the scallops every night!!) The bedroom and lounge/bar areas were comfortable with a super front... More

Having been a malt whisky lover since the days before everyone else started drinking the stuff, and a particular aficionado of the Islay variants since I was barely past old enough to suck them off a dummy, a trip to Islay was the perfect pilgrimage and 'significant (60th) birthday' treat. Courtesy of my other 'arf, gawd bless her. In the... More

A little gem of a hotel, on the Isla whisky trail. Clearly this is a labour of love for Paul & Joan. All needs are catered for and the food they serve is really of a very good quality and beautifully presented.

Great 3 night stay at An Taigh Osda. Perfect location for touring Islay. Paul and Joan were very helpful in providing information on various sites and restaurants. Right next door to the Bruichladdich Distillery - one of our favorites on Islay. Inn is tastefully appointed and out room had a fabulous view of the bay.
