This retreat was part of a package that we got through Flight Centre, and I am very glad that it was included. We would come back again and book directly with them anytime. We stayed in one of the courtyard suites, and it was very nice accommodation considering the location. I was pleasantly surprised by the room, after reading some... More

We had a package & our room that was included was ok but not our cup of tea. The staff advised us that for a little extra fee we could upgrade to one of the front rooms, which we did so & it was clean & comfy & better than our original room in our package. (Original rooms looked more... More

We stayed in the Eco Lodge - which is apparently where some of the staff stay too. The rooms were small sized but adequate, and the bathroom clean and neat. In terms of facilities, there was a tiny bar fridge and a kettle for tea and coffee making. We unfortunately had a family with a small noisy child next door... More

We stayed in the Eco Lodge of the KI Wilderness Retreat for 2 nights. The room is basically a dorm room-bed, small frig, small tv, and bathroom. The Eco Lodge itself is a barn like building with a huge common room that is mainly wasted space. It is furnished with several old, uninviting sofas-nothing else. Rental rooms are arranged around... We spent two nights at this location. While basic in accommodations, we were pleased. We cooked one night in our kitchen and ate a very good meal in the restaurant on premises the second night. Take the advice of other reviews and buy any groceries that you anticipate needing in Penneshaw or Kingscote. There are no stores within 30 miles.... More

KI Wilderness Retreat is the perfect base from which to explore the remote western end of the island although pretty expensive for what you get. Courtyard suites are generous in size and have a small deck overlooking a courtyard with native vegetation and if you're lucky, wildlife. The rooms themselves are quite dark and the furnishings are tired. Staff are... More

This is a tricky one to review. I really want to give it a higher rating, but just can't. The location is fantastic, but lots of little things let them down. We stayed for 5 nights in January 2014 and booked a year in advance to get a cheaper rate. We booked a courtyard suite but on our arrival found... More

I booked this room a few months in advance and payed nearly double what I should have.Don't book in advance unless you really need to. When I phoned to cancel I was told all my money would be kept if I cancelled so we felt we had to go. The room certainly needs updating, old syle tv with no ABC... More

This isn't the flashiest place in the world, but not is it poor quality. Given how remote you are it has everything you need. The restaurant is good quality as is the breakfast. A little freshening up would make you feel more like you were in a quality resort, but that's about it. Also, you'll love the visiting wallabies in... More
