The hotel is situated at the far end of Kangaroo Island some 150km from the ferry in Penneshaw. If you are going to stay at the resort for several days, don't forget to buy whatever you may need during that period in the supermarket in Kingscote, because there are no shops of any kind on the rest of the island!... It was 45 degrees when we arrived for our stay. The air conditioning in our apartment in the Eco Lodge was highly efficient and had cooled down the place in no time. Cold drinking water awaited us in the kitchen fridge. Little touches like that mean a lot sometimes and were very much appreciated. We saw wallabies & a large... More

The hotel is located just outside Flinders Chase NP and is certainly in the wilderness. Rooms were very comfortable, and service good. The friendly local Wallabies made your day. Needs a swimming pool, but you can't have everything! The restaurant was excellent.

The only hotel the west end wilderness area has to offer apart from the expensive exclusive Southern Ocean Lodge - so feels like the owners don't have to try! Good layout with little cabin-style rooms each with individual decks overlooking a central courtyard of shrubs, Sadly however they are dark depressing and desperately in need of refurbishment. Smelly dirty old... More

Nice little hotel five minutes drive from the border of Flinders Chase national park. We had an excellent dinner at the restaurant and walked the 2.5km blue trail twice, just before sunset and right after sunrise, and saw an echidna, a couple of wallabies and several kangaroos.

the good point is the close location to the flinders chase national park and driving in the dark on the roads near there is dangerous because of wildlife I agree with the previous writhers that this place has lost its soul we stayed in 2 courtyard rooms and 1 room had a new flatscreen tv and mine had a old... We stayed in the Eco Lodge cheapest accommodation. Room fine and roomy with fridge though TV didn't work. However, walls are paper thin and shake when other people slam their doors and you can hear others showering.

We stayed in a courtyard suite which was rated 4 stars but 3 would probably be a more appropriate rating. The room was clean but dated, and could use a little sprucing up. Having said that, we picked this accommodation for its proximity to Flinders Chase National Park, and for that alone we had made the right choice. That allowed... More

Excellent location near Flinders Chase park but really dated rooms. Probably more wallaby droppings ground into the room rug than there were outside. Room smelled like a barn. Housekeeping just put dirty coffee cups away without even washing or rinsing. Not a lot of options in the area that are comfortable.

We stayed here a couple of nights so we would not have to drive at night with the wildlife from Flinders Chase but could still enjoy sunsets there which are spectacular at Admirals Arch. The accommodation is conveniently located, basic, clean, friendly staff but not really personal. Restaurant ok but not cheap. Recommend for visiting Flinders Chase as it is... More
