For the price, I must admit that I expected it to be nicer than it was. The bed was not very comfortable and things looked a little worn. It was, however, clean. Having a fridge in the room was nice and cold water was provided in a carafe - a nice touch. Best part was its proximity to the national... More

Having made the crossing by ferry which is very costly and if the South Australian government don't start to subsidise I fear that the Island and the people that are there doing there best to promote it won't survive. Having said that the retreat is a great place to stay in order to experience the wonderful attractions that the island... More

Booked months in advance we were unable to travel on the ferry to the island, it having been cancelled on the day before we were due to stay here owing to bad weather. No guarantee it would sail that week in fact. Hotel wouldn't even consider a refund or an alternative arrangement and we were out of pocket 2 rooms... More

We paid $240 for a night. Marketed as a world class holiday destination. The glass door did not lock so could only rely on locking screen door. Nail holes in the wall, very dirty head board, many chips in the builtin furniture, mould on bathroom ceiling, dirt all around the tiles, dirty toilet seat, slimy tiles in shower and cobwebs... More

We stayed 2 nights in the Eco Lodge. Our room was perfectly adequate for our needs. We liked the effort made to be "Eco friendly" and we had everything we needed: a comfortable bed, nice hot shower, room heating and above all a TV so we could watch some of the tennis. The room and common areas were clean and... More

The KI Wilderness Retreat is a great starting point for seeing the wildlife near Finders Chase park. The rooms are nice, with a wilderness flair, and there are dvd rentals available for free. While we didn't see any kangaroos or wallabies at dusk when we went for a walk, it was still an enjoyable experience. If you're looking for a... More

Well located not far from Flinders Chase National Park, the retreat tries to fit into its surroundings, operating on rainwater, self generated power and recycling waste. A mix of experienced and younger enthusiastic staff were available to answer any inquiries. The room, courtyard suite, was comfortable but not luxurious in keeping with Eco credentials. It had a small front verandah... More

We stayed at Kangaroo Island Wilderness Retreat for four days while visiting the island. The hotel is just outside of Flinder's Chase National Park, one of the island's prime attractions. We stayed in one of the hotel's nicest rooms which have the amenity level of a typical Holiday Inn in the USA. The staff was variable in terms of their... More

We've never been to Maldon before, a very enjoyable place to visit. The Hotel was packed, so we sat outside with the kids in the beer garden. The food was great, and the kids meals used real food, not processed fish and chicken. We loved the local craft beers and ciders, they have a fantastic list. Given it was so... More

This retreat was part of a package that we got through Flight Centre, and I am very glad that it was included. We would come back again and book directly with them anytime. We stayed in one of the courtyard suites, and it was very nice accommodation considering the location. I was pleasantly surprised by the room, after reading some... More
