Excellent location near Flinders Chase park but really dated rooms. Probably more wallaby droppings ground into the room rug than there were outside. Room smelled like a barn. Housekeeping just put dirty coffee cups away without even washing or rinsing. Not a lot of options in the area that are comfortable.

We stayed here a couple of nights so we would not have to drive at night with the wildlife from Flinders Chase but could still enjoy sunsets there which are spectacular at Admirals Arch. The accommodation is conveniently located, basic, clean, friendly staff but not really personal. Restaurant ok but not cheap. Recommend for visiting Flinders Chase as it is... More

We stayed in one of the spa rooms. The room was really large and well-appointed, and the staff were friendly. It was actually nicer than we had expected considering you are staying at what feels like the very end of the island. I had to give the spa a clean out before use, which was the one disappointment. You don't... More

We stayed here in a one bedroom apt for one night. It's a quite nice place to stay at the west end of kangaroo island, comfortable bed, nice bathroom and full facilited kitchen. For people who wanna visit the Flinder Chase and Koala walk in Hanson bay, this hotel is the best choice located very close to both of them.... More

I do regular monthly global hotel inspections as my part of my job and when I go away on a personal break I do my best not to judge a place by my professional work expectations. But this place needs strong management as the staff do not seem to know or do what is expected of them. Upon arrival greeted... More

We splurged a bit to stay here as I have a great love of animals and the photos on Trip Advisor showed many animals on site. When we arrived, we saw a sign that we were not allowed to feed the animals, which was disappointing. I absolutely understand why that is, but the photos on Trip Advisor were a bit... More

We upgraded to a courtyard bath suite and glad that we did. The deep bath was certainly welcomed after a day of hiking in the National Park. If you elect to choose the bath suite, take your own bath gel. Really hot shower and bath water. The decor in the room is dated but comfortable. The room was clean, bathroom... More

For the price, I must admit that I expected it to be nicer than it was. The bed was not very comfortable and things looked a little worn. It was, however, clean. Having a fridge in the room was nice and cold water was provided in a carafe - a nice touch. Best part was its proximity to the national... More

Having made the crossing by ferry which is very costly and if the South Australian government don't start to subsidise I fear that the Island and the people that are there doing there best to promote it won't survive. Having said that the retreat is a great place to stay in order to experience the wonderful attractions that the island... More

Booked months in advance we were unable to travel on the ferry to the island, it having been cancelled on the day before we were due to stay here owing to bad weather. No guarantee it would sail that week in fact. Hotel wouldn't even consider a refund or an alternative arrangement and we were out of pocket 2 rooms... More
