We loved this little cottage, which was right in the national park! There were geese, kangaroos, wallabies, and koalas within a 5 minute walk from the cottage (or visible from the cottage)! Also, there is easy access to the trails around the visitor center. We bought groceries in Kingscote before driving to the cottage, as it is a bit remote (which... More

Cosy cottage, small but thoughtfully laid out and stocked with everything you could need, even the wood stove was ready to light. Loved lying in bed with the wind howling outside with the fire going, so snug and warm. The bathroom was a hidden gem, shack from the outside, open the door into a beautiful modern interior. The main bed... More

A great little cottage for short or long stays, though we were only there for one night. Very cosy, clean and tidy, with a fantastic hot shower. We had some doubts about having an outside bathroom, but as it was literally just outside the door and was very large and modern, this wasn't a problem. Great for a couple but... More

We stayed at May's Homestead, Flinders Chase National Park for 2 nights in May 2015 and it was heaven. We love the feeling of being disconnected from the modern world - no TV, no internet, no 3G/4G - just a beautiful fire, Cape Baron Geese, Kangaroo/Wallabies, Koalas, Echidnas at your doorstep. This is our second stay after staying one night... More

I visit Flinders Chase a few times year and love to stay in this little whitewashed single room stone cottage in the centre of the national park. It was built when the first homestead was established (Mays Cottage) for the postman who would need to stay overnight after a long horseback journey to reach May's. It has the original iron... More

Loved Postman's Cottage, clean, comfortable and well thought out. (Did wonder how short people would be able to cook on the hotplates though). We got up at dawn and were rewarded with about 20 minutes alone with a platypus, I even think he was showing off!

We spent 2 nights at Postmans Hut recently and loved it. It was clean and comfortable and so quiet. We saw lots of wildlife right on our doorstep. We loved that it was right in the park, and we could go bushwalking without needing to jump in the car. Ther is a fire in the hut for colder nights and... More

Fabulous and fun. Failed to spot a platypus, but otherwise saw all sorts of creatures, including a giant Huntsman right above the door to the bathroom. Had nursing kangaroo right near the clothesline. Had to go out at night to spot possum, and saw an echidna as we were leaving Seal Beach.

We spent two nights in Mays Cottage and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The cottage is quiet and charming with comfortable facilities. There are two bedrooms with a spacious kitchen and separate lounge area (as one might expect there is no TV) with a shower and toilet one step ouside the back door. There is abundant wildlife surrounding the cottage and... More
