Loved Postman's Cottage, clean, comfortable and well thought out. (Did wonder how short people would be able to cook on the hotplates though). We got up at dawn and were rewarded with about 20 minutes alone with a platypus, I even think he was showing off!

We spent 2 nights at Postmans Hut recently and loved it. It was clean and comfortable and so quiet. We saw lots of wildlife right on our doorstep. We loved that it was right in the park, and we could go bushwalking without needing to jump in the car. Ther is a fire in the hut for colder nights and... More

Fabulous and fun. Failed to spot a platypus, but otherwise saw all sorts of creatures, including a giant Huntsman right above the door to the bathroom. Had nursing kangaroo right near the clothesline. Had to go out at night to spot possum, and saw an echidna as we were leaving Seal Beach.

We spent two nights in Mays Cottage and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The cottage is quiet and charming with comfortable facilities. There are two bedrooms with a spacious kitchen and separate lounge area (as one might expect there is no TV) with a shower and toilet one step ouside the back door. There is abundant wildlife surrounding the cottage and... More

So glad we have found this gem and booked it right away. Perfectly located to visit the various west-end of KI, wildlife as you step out of your door, nice and cosy inside the Postman's Cottage, great for a couple, everything provided to be able to cook and enjoy dinner, a wonderful surprise when opening the outside bathroom door... a... Family of four stayed in Mays Cottage; very roomy, cozy, and clean, with all the necessities for a comfortable stay (fully equipped kichen, linens and blankets, games and puzzles, great shower, laundry sink and clothes line). Fantastic location close to visitor center and right on trails. kangaroos and koala reside right in the "yard"; also saw many wallaby, cape barron... More

We booked a few nights with both Postmans Cottage and Mays Cottage - 4 adults and 2 kids. These two stone buildings are close together so it is possible for a group to share both of them while using Mays for cooking and eating. Having said that Postmans does have stand alone cooking facilities but everything is in one room.... More

Amazing to be able to sit quietly with a predinner drink and watch the Cape Barren Geese meander a few meters away, kangaroos grazing and hear the koala in the nearby tree. Meanwhile the magpie is keeping a close eye on you. There are easy walking tracks nearby with amazing interpretative signs to explain the hsitory of the place as... More

Although we were surprised the first moment when we saw it, it totally changed my mind while entering it. The room is nice and clean. Basically, it got everything!! Kitchenware, Microwave, Fridge, stove. We do not need a TV in the island as it is an escape from the city's hustle and bustle. Next time (probably next year) we will... More
