Highly recommend you spend a couple of nights here if you want fresh air, lovely rooms and a fantastic restaurant. If you are a hill walker then this will be perfect for you. Rooms are decent size, very modern, it was a palace in the 17th century,so you have a combination of modern living with history. Friendly staff and dog... More

A fantastic place to visit - lovely drive into the countryside which resembles Alpine meadows. The hotel is a lovely old place and a good mix of traditional and modern the bedrooms are large with sitting areas and super bed and bathroom with lovely views of the sunset over the hills. The restaurant is first class with modern a Mediterranean... More

We enjoyed our 3 day stay at this lovely place. It is a beautiful stately house, with comfortable rooms. Outstanding restaurant - Bailara - and great service. Wonderful mountain scenery - fresh air - great walks - as isolated as u would want it yet in easy reach of the coast and of San Sebastián.

We spent three night here and Oh My! Iriarte Jauregia is a castle refurbished as a luxury hotel, placed in the Basque Country, beautiful peace and quiet, perfect place to get oneself back with nature. Rooms are excellent as is the free WIFI. What you get with this fantastic property, is the heavenly food that comes from the kitchen. The... More

We stayed at the end of July 2014 after 3 weeks of travelling around France in a camper van. The two nights we spent here were a welcomed bit of luxury! The whole place retained it's old charm but felt modern. The rural location is beautiful but it is a 50 euro taxi ride to San Sebastián if you are... More

I stayed at Iriate Jaugeria for four nights in June 2014. My expectations had been so high so I was expecting to be brought back down to earth. This place is five star and the whole experience is wonderful. It is a tranquil private sophisticated place to stay. You stand in the shower looking out at rolling hills of cows... More

On our trip around the Basque country, we came across this beautiful hotel. A former privately owned palace tucked away in the mountainside only an hour from San Sebastian. It's several hundred years old, and completely renovated the last years, and converted into a hotel. Amazing scenery surrounding the hotel, friendly and accommodating staff, and great gourmet food. Anything you... More

This property provided one of our best hotel experiences in Spain. The Iriarte is located in the Basque country, about 40Km or 1/2 hour from San Sebastian. We had wanted to visit the area but avoid the crowds and inflated prices of San Sebastian. This property was perfect. It is a 17th Century palace, converted into a lovely hotel 19-room... More

The hotel provides a great base for exploring. Located in a mountain village so much is accessible and the train connection from Tolosa to San Sebastián allowed us to totally enjoy all the Pintxos and Sangria on offer. Hotel staff were very friendly and obliging. Breakfast variety extensive. Michelin quality restaurant meals but would have preferred some menu variation during... More
