We stayed in Aloita for two weeks in December looking for a relaxing get-away. The resort has a very nice rustic feel to the bungalows were very comfortable. There were plenty to keep us busy including going to visit the nearby local island and their waterfall, paddle-boarding between islands, and going diving with Mario was a real treat. The staff... We went there in August 2014 for 5 days and were quite disappointed by the resort. It was not bad but considering the extremely high price (c. $350/night) for 2 persons, the resort is defintely not up to the standards. Room was ok and right by the beach, but the bathroom was dirty and smelly. Food was very disppointing compared... More

Hi Julien, thank you for your feedback, however there are some points that I would like to precise: - you paid 350 USD that is actually a discounted rate as the price of the bungalow should be 425 USD per day in full board (all meals included) for 2 persons (which one is a surfer so with 2 daily surf... The "Aloita Resort & Spa" is probably the most beautiful place with the most stunning surrounding and ocean you can imagine! Palmtrees everywhere, everything is lush green, and the ocean offers great opportunities for snorkling, diving and -of course- surfing! If you are a surfer, you'll love the Mentawai Islands and this resort as it provides a "boat shuttle" to... More

Aloita's bungalow resort is nice with a friendly staff situated on a beautiful private island. I wouldn't necessarily call this a resort by American or Bali standards. The spa only offered massages and was pretty dingy... They also happened to be doing construction on the day I get. Massage. Power tools are not relaxing. The yoga instuctor sadly was on... More

Aloita is a excellent destination for surfers and non surfers due the bunch of activities offered by the resort. The staff is very friendly and committed with the goal of building a familiar atmosphere. The bangalo offers all the comfort necessary for a couple. The surf guides (Cahn and Toasty), Yoga teacher (Raine), Diving instructor (Nacho) and Assistant manager (Nelvi)... More

My boyfriend and I spent a week at Aloita and absolutely loved it! He's a surfer and went out on the boat twice a day most days having a great time being taken to breaks by Cahn. I wondered that I might get bored but if anything there was almost too much to do! There was really chilled yoga with... More

Aloita is simply a little paradise... The natural beauty is overwhelming, the resort itself is designed in a simple yet elegant and eco-friendly manner, and the staff members are particularly attentive. The GM Mario's been in hospitality all his life and his passion for Indonesia is evident, Mario's Latin warmth and hospitality means that he treats guests as if they... More
