Fanatstic location but what a pity it does not make the most of it. Visited when quiet recently but still service very slow, dishes not cleared when should have been and no one asked at any point how it was. My fish pie was tasteless.

Although I have never stayed at the Heron's Nest, I have eaten in the bar on many occasions, mostly in the evening. The pub is old with plenty of character. Twice a year Innkeepers Lodge discount their hotels, and at £25.00 per night including breakfast, its not to be missed. The usual price is around £60.00 in high season. I read the reviews after my visit! And found the food at a Lunch visit to be better than suggested and would rate it as good value, the restaurant was busy which is a good sign and will go again.

Situated on the canal just to the east of Knowle, the Heron's Nest has a lovely outside area and a welcoming relaxing interior with log fire to add that special bit of atmosphere.
