Endsleigh is a beautiful old house with 18 bedrooms. I've been fortunate to enjoy a midweek stay, with very few other guests. Lovely gardens, tasty food, a comfortable bedroom & 'very dog friendly', so there was little else that I needed. Wifi to keep me 'connected' when I needed it, but otherwise, a chance to rest, read & sleep. The... More

This is a hotel that conjures up visits to your aged great aunt with her large house in the country. Admittedly it is a tiny bit of a rough diamond but that is its charm. Think a hotel for Boden lovers. If you are expecting the Savoy in Devon then you are missing the point. It isn't always perfect but... More

We're local and went for a milestone birthday meal, just three of us. It is a wonderful building and the public rooms are charming (but the ladies loo is freezing and the light switch was hard to locate in the darkness). The food was perfectly acceptable although easily within the reach of any competent cook, but too expensive for such... More

We have just come back from staying at Hotel Endsleigh for the second time, as part of a shooting party. The service was good for our private dining on the evening of our stay, but the breakfast was exceptionally slow, and we were late in leaving the hotel. I believe they have regular shooting parties to stay, so it's not... More

We stayed here for two nights just before xmas and it was lovely. We took our two dogs as the hotel is dog friendly, the only downside to that being that the dog friendly rooms are two flights of stairs up in the attic ; not so dog friendly if your dog needs a wee in the middle of the... More

We visited Endsleigh House Hotel in September 2015. It is about 15 minutes from Tavistock, surrounded by a large park. When we arrived a welcoming fire was crackling in the open fireplace in the entrance hall. The rooms are carefully designed with close attention to every detail to create a warm and personal atmosphere, making you feel right at home.... More

We have recently returned from the most fabulous stay in this glorious hotel. A warm welcome by friendly helpful staff. We have been looking for years for a luxury yet relaxed country hotel that allows us to take our dogs. Ones we have tried in the past either come up desperately lacking and are scruffy or have so many rules... More

I visited The Endsleigh with my partner over New Year. We absolutely loved it. The house and grounds are beautiful, the staff were friendly and it had a good mix of relaxed luxury - with a lot of guests who have dogs. We stayed in room 5 and didn't experience any of the noise issues as some others have written... More

We stayed for just 1 night on our way back from a trip to Cornwall. From the initial phone call to book our room to check out, we found all of the members of staff to be extremely accommodating and friendly. We were all welcomed from arrival (including our two hounds) who were both given their own dog beds and... More

I have combed the reviews and can see few descriptions which sum up the appearance of this hotel. Even on a clear afternoon, it is like arriving at the Hammer House of Horror: grey stone, gloomy appearance, a foreboding. Park up and squeeze in to a tiny reception to the left of the entrance hall, which as Robert M rightly... More
