Friends recommended Endsleigh to us and we were delighted to have discovered it. It is a quintessential English country house decorated and run to very high standards. The management and staff are friendly, particularly the food and beverage manager Stephane who is the real star of the place. The views and gardens are unique and as gorgeous as one is... more

We went to the hotel restaurant for a sunday lunch and found we were the only couple there. The meal and service were disappointing. The menu looked excellent but execution was less than perfect with lukewarm food and a lack of seasoning. The presentation was good but both main courses had a really heavy sauce with a vague bisto-like quality.... more

First of all, the hotel is absolutely beautiful - lovely rooms with fabulous bed linen and baths in particular, log fires in numerous rooms downstairs which have thoughtfully arranged groups of chairs and wooden floors, and a great eclectic selection of books in the library. It has the ambience of the fishing lodge that it is, but super charged for... more

Stayed here a year or so ago and back again ..Still wonderful. A little gem which as someone else said is like staying in a private house. I don't believe there is a prettier view in England. Tried walks we hadn't done before and enjoyed tea in front of the fire. Food better than I rememeber it. Rooms cosy and... more

Spent two nights in Mid November. The location is truly stunning, the autumn colours are inspiring. I travelled with my wife and we stayed in suite 2, great views of the gardens, river and valley. All staff were attentive, friendly and relaxed. It is the perfect place to relax and unwind. We ate in the restaurant on both evenings, the... more

I got married here last year. I really should have put a review up immediately, it's so good. But you know how it goes after the honeymoon......back to the grindstone. It is one of the most beautiful spots I've ever visited and the 'Cottage Ornee ' (some cottage) style complements the position perfectly. Built for the Duchess of Bedford as... more

Discovered this delightful Devon destination this year. Glorious Gardens in the summer, great walks in the "Season of Mists....." together with late autumn colours and golden sunshine. Spring at Endsleigh still to be discovered. Highly recommend to anyone like me who loves to escape to the peace of the countryside from time to time - a home from abroad .... more

Stayed at the Endsleigh for a short honeymoon break in early September. Driving down the long drive after a four and half hour journey from Sussex was like entering another world - one of delightful peace and tranquility. The Endsleigh stands in over 100 acres of its own outstanding grounds. The gardens have everything from formal borders and rockeries to... more
