17th October (my birthday) decided to try out this pub. What a disappointment. Sausage, mash and onion gravy - the mash just lumps, the sausages overcooked the gravy fine. I wish now I had refused to pay my friend left more than half her meal. It appears their chef has left. Lets hope they get a new and good one... More

Staying at a nearby hotel with no restaurant we popped in here for an evening meal on Saturday night. Friendly basic pub with owners who apparently have only been there a few months. I had a chicken Kiev with savoury rice and OH had lamb on a veg rosti. He is not a fan of spicy food and was a... More

We visited Sidbury today for a birthday outing and called into the Red Lion at lunchtime. Very welcoming, friendly and comfortable. We had fish and chips and it was the best we had eaten, beautifully cooked and served, and very reasonable prices. It made our day out a very enjoyable one

A lovely village pub in Sidbury. with a restaurant serving very good food at very reasonable prices, unfussy pleasant service and a very good pint. Recommend for a pleasing night out, quiz night on Tuesday's, regular menu changes. And a carribean night coming soon I hear, can't wait !

We came across the Red Lion by chance and were so pleased we had. It's a great "local" - nice friendly atmosphere, welcoming staff, good decor. It also has a small restaurant at the rear of the pub where the food is absolutely delicious! I feel they need to re-write their menu as it doesn't do justice to the really... More

We stayed for one night on our way to Dartmouth. We had booked on line and Tom was a good host welcoming us and taking our bags up to our room at the back. The rooms are all recently refurbished and they are lovely. We ate in the pub and the food was delicious and just what we needed after... More

What a lucky find! We called in here for a meal - just by chance. If you are looking for excellent top quality hotel food in a delightful country inn setting, in a charming Devon village then visit "Yuseph at The Red Lion" He is truly a food wizard. We will certainly call again. Pete & Mary

We popped in here for a bite to eat and couple of pints with my son after a thirst quenching round of golf. The welcome we received from Tom and his team was very friendly and inclusive. The beer and food were great and the atmosphere very pleasant, not much more to say, definitely worth a visit.

Stayed one night about 3 weeks ago. Food good and view good from bedroom overlooking the church. Best thing about this place was the 2 young ladies who looked after us serving the food etc. They were fantastic and wonderfully polite. I would recommend..
