Used hotel as a base whilst we were at a family wedding near Axminster. We booked a family suite which had 2 good size twin beds and a double - the configuration of the room was one of the best family rooms I have seen. The owners were extremely welcoming and accomodating - they even offered to iron my shirt!.... more

Sid Valley Country House Hotel is in breathtaking surroundings. The Sid Valley is quiet and very lovely. The welcome at the hotel is very friendly. The owners live on site and are helpful and professional. What do you need to know about a hotel? It is clean, the beds are comfortable, the showers are excellent, the swimming pool is warm,... more

Found this hotel by chance whilst surfing the net for accommodation in the Sidmouth area. Beautiful location on the Sid Valley with wonderful countryside views around. About 1 mile north of Sidbury and just a short drive to Sidmouth and beyond. Ideal location for touring. Well managed, family run hotel, where the emphasis is on customer service. Rooms spotless and... more

Interesting to read the other reviews, some from people who had had a really nice time and others from those who felt that the accommodation was overpriced or who didn't like the owners. If you are in two minds about whethere to go, then hopefully this will help. The accommodation has prices listed very clearly on the website, for the... more

We booked online and paid £270 for two nights room only. Great location for the coast and fantastic views, but indifferent service. The price was VERY expensive considering what you get - tiny shower room, no wardrobe to hang anything, breakfast not included, the remote for the tv did not work in our room. None of these are major, but... more

I don't normally write a review on a hotel I've not even stayed in yet. But after speaking with the so called proprietors of this establishment, I can say with ease that I wouldn't want to stay at this hotel. I called to check if their rooms permitted smoking, which is what I'd read on another hotel-booking website, and my... more

July 2008 We recently spent three nights at the Sidvalley Country House Hotel which is a friendly family run hotel. Smaller than it would sound from the name though. The rooms are well fitted out and very clean. The setting is in beautiful countryside and very quiet. The only downside was that the evening meal price was set too high... more

My wife and I held our wedding reception here in June 2007. The setting is wonderful and the owners really went that extra mile (and way beyond) to make our special day even better than we could have thought. The food was excellent and even though its a faily small family run hotel they had no prolems at all serving... more

What a spot to find , we only had a couple of days free and this was such a find - so relaxed and romatic for our 2nd anniversary. We had the four poster room and had breakfast on the terrace and what a view to eat with! Restaurant was busy but we had a lovely meal - staff great... more

I really wish I had read these reviews before visiting this Hotel... Who does the owner think she is! She is so rude to her guests and her staff. We left a day early we have never encountered anything quite like it. Hotel was okay but I have told everyone I know never ever spend a single penny at this... more
