Me and my partner stayed here overnight, we received a warm welcome and was shown to our room by the landlord. The rooms are converted from an old stable and have some nice features such as exposed stonework. A short drive and we were in Exeter, had a few drinkies then headed back to the pub for a few more.... More

This pub has good food, good real ales, spirits and soft drinks are very over priced and you have to ask for lemon( which the landlord looks like he is constantly sucking on with his ridiculous facial expressions!!!) As this pub welcomes animals it has that very distinct smell of rancid fur and cats which wander over and walk over... More

Stayed here for a wedding - ideal as the pub is next to the church in this stunning village. Rooms are basic but comfortable and clean. The pub itself is very good with excellent meals, good beer and friendly locals. If you are looking for rooms in a pub at really very very good value for money then the Royal... More

This is simply a review of The Royal Oak as a pub. All I can say is: you must visit this place on a Tuesday or Friday and have the fish and chips. You will not be disappointed. They're the best i've ever had! The staff are lovely and the setting is beautiful. Highly recommended!

The system does not allow me to say when my last stay was (early 2009) but from 2006 through to late 2008 I stayed on a regular basis at the Royal Oak, Dunsford, on average about 10 nights a month. The accomodation is in an old farm building just beyond the back of the inn, which has a rear entrance.... More

We stayed over on our way to Cornwall but want to return and stay here for longer next time. The rooms in a converted stable block were clean, comfortable and basically decorated - no fussy accessories! The host was very friendly and helpful and made us feel most welcome. The location is beautiful, overlooking a pretty thatched village and across... More

We stayed one night for a wedding nearby, and had a pleasant room. The rooms are converted stable blocks in a row behind the pub itself. They are quite basically furnished, but warm and clean. The shower room was clean and quite spacious. Not amazing, but as we only got ready for the wedding, left and then came back to... More

I stayed here with my partner this month and I just wanted to let people know that this place is still open and still as described by the poster below. Prices are the same as those on the website even if they say they are from 2007. The village is still as small and quaint as described and the animals... More

We stayed here on the way down to Cornwall and we couldn't have chosen better. Its only 6 miles from Exeter and the M5 but in the most pretty thatched village - a beautiful setting next to the church. The pub is a really friendly traditional local. We had a warm welcome from everyone. We loved having a few drinks... More
