We visited the Jouneys End whilst on holiday during the summer and re-visited in October. The effort that had gone in to Halloween was awesome and the food (as before) was sublime. Ok, so the staff may not be all singing and dancing but its an honest pub for honest people, and the complainers probably ventured out of Salcombe! Can't... More

Was on weeks break and decided to try the journeys end for some pub grub , on arrival at the pub we were told it was a thai food night and the pub was fully booked by a rude waitress , we were more or less told to leave , no room at the inn! To be honest although it... More

Considering the menu here only has 1 or maybe 2 vegetarian options, they are always delicious. I've been 3 times now with meat eating friends and haven't yet been disappointed. The food is always very tasty, fresh and inventive. I love the whole experience, from walking in the pitch black (at night) from the car park down to the pub,... More

We have eaten here five times now and there is definitely nowhere else locally that we would go for Sunday lunch as this place does the most amazing one. The pork in particular is wonderful with a great bit of crackling. The veggies are different every time but always perfectly cooked and fresh and enjoyable. We always get the impression that... More

We visited this pub when we were camping in Bigbury, having had the food recommended to us. We found it to be original, quirky and charming. The food was excellent, especially the starters. The staff were friendly and the landlady was very accommodating (we moved tables) - she seemed to genuinely want everyone to have a good time in her... More

We were really looking forward to a special meal here. Upon arriving in the bar we were greeted with the smell of stinky dog! I love dogs but not to be sharing a meal with, there were three dogs in the bar area. Great for dog walkers to take their dog in, but not to be mixed with food. They... More

This is an unusual place and is not for everyone. If you are interested in food then you should come because it is really very, very good cooking. My lamb steak with crushed potatoes green beans and toasted pine nuts was stonking. However it is quite small and they can't cope with 'walk ins' - we tried to go without... More

I have been to the Journey's end many times in the past few years. The food is always excellent--I could order anything on the menu with confidence it will be delicious, beautifully presented and a new experience--and there is a wide selection of gorgeous ales and ciders (Devon Red is a personal favourite!). The location is stunning and the environment... More
