I stayed for a night during April 2015 whilst on business in Glastonbury; having previously stayed for a week during January. The building is a 17th century farmhouse which has been tastefully modernised so that the rooms have en-suite facilities whilst retaining their period appearance. The bed was comfortable and as a eccentric but interesting touch, was covered in a... More

The landlady was incredibly curt to the point of being rude upon our arrival. The room was incredibly dusty and the bed linen felt as though it had not been washed, ever. There were hairs (belonging to a previous guest) under the pillow, say no more. This triggered my asthma and feel the HSE and Environmental Health officer should be... More

This is a very old building so allowances must be made, and clearly some effort has been made to modernise with a new ensuite. But the room was very musty and dusty. The toilet had a macerator that went off every 15 mins. And the bed was very old and uncomfortable. My husband ended up sleeping on the floor. The... More

We have stayed with Gilly and Vern for several years, using it as a base to keep our car safe, as we travel abroad. Vern taxi's us to Bristol Airport and back. This is a lovely quaint old converted farm, deep in the Somerset countryside. Quiet, very old and charming. Your hosts Vern and Gilly will treat you as family,... More

The landlady was rude as soon as we arrived, responding to our knock on the door with "what do you want!"?? Once we had told her we had a booking and we were here for that booking (we arrived at 12pm) "we'll check-in is not till 4pm??? The website we booked through stated 12pm and the landlady knew we were... More

I stayed with Ginny and Vern for one night and had a delightful time. They were incredibly welcoming and made me feel right at home. There is a lot of history to the property and this is proudly reflected around the guesthouse. Food is in great amounts. Homemade evening meal was tasty and breakfast put me in very good stead... I stayed for 1 night with my mother in a twin room with ensuite on our way from Bath to Cornwall. There isn't really anything in the village of Theale itself, but it is in an excellent location for Wells & surrounding towns; this would be a great place to stay if you wanted somewhere quiet & relaxed. The room... More
