We only stayed at the resort for a wedding. The rooms had ants and were in very bad shape. The bath tub coating was peeling. The bathroom fixtures were very worn and dated. The sprinkler system sprayed water against our room window from 1am to 2am. The walls on one side of the room were so thin it sounded like... More

This place is very rustic. We stay in a room that was built in 1921. If you like the country you'll like this place. The room I wish would of been more cheery. Better curtains and some flowers. The bluefly picture on wall was nice. I suggest getting a upgrade room if your looking for more modern. The Restuant was... More

This review will consist of two parts. First, the place as a wedding venue and second, as overnight accomodations. The place is billed as a "resort," but is closer to an old west stagecoach stop with bungalows. It's clean, but think rustic. There are rolling hills, lavender fields, an olive grove and livestock (more on that later). You half expect... More

We decided at last minute to try the Grand Oak at the Highland Springs resort for Sunday Brunch and as on other occasions the menu choices although limited are just excellent, the chef Stefan Weck is a German kitchen genius. We ordered for the Main (Entree) the Newport Lamb Navarin and the Grand Oak Burger, both superb and the Apple... More

I went to the "resort" for a wedding. The grounds are of historic interest (my teenage sons liked them and said they had a "Shining" kind of feel), and the setting is quite beautiful. I saw a number of herons. Otherwise, I have nothing good to say about the place. The room I was put in was NOT CLEAN. It... More

Dear Guest, I am sorry to hear of the problems you experienced during your recent stay at our resort. We agree that the usual standards of services were not met in this instance. Though we do not usually rent these rooms to our guests, we agreed to rent out several of our un-renovated rooms due to the bride’s request to... More

Visited this property for a wedding, decided to stay overnight after the event at 4 PM It is a nice size facility, many different settings for weddings could be accomodated. The room we stayed was a good size, and beds comfortable. The big but is when considering the condition of the rooms, hallways, and landscape...there is a great deal of... More

We stayed here the last weekend in July. On Sunday morning I woke up at 5:30am to walk around the lavender fields, stork-visited lagoons, and old trees. I’m an avid hiker, so that morning I was very pleased to find, only about 200 feet from my room door, an adult California lynx or bobcat. I didn’t have a camera, but... More

We just spent the day there on Friday April 20th for an amazing wedding held under the 1100 year old Oak Tree. What a gorgeous venue. The grounds are stunning and the staff was very friendly, and available at all times, but yet were discreetly not around... in a good way. A few suggestions? Wear flat shoes. The grounds are... More

I took my husband here for a Valentines day weekend and was sadly a bit disappointing. I'll start with the good. The food/restaurant is EXCELLENT! Very tasty, interesting lavender infusions and very vintage atmosphere. Beautiful views. The bar was also very neat. The decor was of the history of the place and very fun and pleasant. I wish it would... More

Despite what it sounds like below, I do recommend this place due to it's location and the beautiful grounds. My wife and I stayed here for the second time last weekend. Last year we stayed there the weekend after the Annual Lavender Festival and we had a fantastic weekend. We strolled around the grounds anywhere we liked and we were... More
