My mom and I were in Lake Tahoe for marathon week, we had booked at the Horizon (across the street from the Marriott) because it was really cheap and was hosting the marathon events. We had to leave after the first night because the beds were so hard. We had scoped out the area (there were several hotels within one... more

I have to admit that I am frugal and cheap when it comes to paying for nicer hotels so when given the opportunity to stay 3 nights at a Tahoe resort for $100 for a timeshare sales pitch, I took it. Although I expected a sales pitch, I wasn't prepared for 2 hours of high pressure. Nevertheless, the stay was... more

We traded our timeshare for one of the "efficiency" units at this resort & stayed August 30th - September 3rd. This fell over the busy Labor Day weekend, & we certainly saw the difference on Tuesday & Wednesday, following the holiday weekend. Much fewer people & it made for a nicer stay. Although we were not owners at the Marriott... more

This is defiantly a beautiful timeshare property. We exchanged our week in Palm Desert to come to Lake Tahoe. It was absolutely one of the most beautiful places in the US to visit. If you are an owner with Marriott you do not pay the $19.00 parking fee. Our accommodations were nothing less than wonderful. We had a 2 bdrm.... more

We stayed on a promotional deal for this timeshare property -- the funny thing is, the timeshare pitch was actually sort of interesting. But the property was a mixed bag. The pluses: outstanding pool, stuff to entertain kids, close to casinos if you're into that, right next to a big supermarket, Starbucks, etc. The minuses: Incredibly crowded area with tacky... more

Get ready for the “concierge” to put the hard sell on you to go to a time share “presentation”. That’s the first thing that happened to us. The front desk tells you that the concierge has something for you and you find out it’s a sales pitch. We couldn’t get away from the eager little sales boy. Make sure when... more

This is the second time my husband and I have stayed at this property and both times I have had mixed feelings. We are owners at two other vacation clubs, so I know this is a timeshare as opposed to a hotel. First the "pros" of this property. It is on Highway 50 and you can walk to the casinos.... more

Marriott Timber Lodge is a great place to stay. It is centrally located and has very nice accommodations. The swimming pool is heated which makes it very nice since the temperatures, even in summer do not get much above 80 degrees. The staff was very accommodating. Our requests were handled quickly and efficiently. Our room was light and airy and... more

I booked this hotel over the Embassy Suites next door - thinking it would be a treat. Unfortunately, the property is more set up as a time share then a hotel. The ammenities are limited. There is no room service - and they do not provide "daily cleaning" unless you want to pay extra for it. They will come in... more

We used some of our platinum Marriott points to stay here during Thanksgiving last year while we were in town visiting family in Reno. We had a very nice room, king bed w/ pull-out couch. We didn't get to try out any of the on-site restuarants which was a shame since it did look nice. We did spend most of... more
