We stayed at the Black Bear Inn in late August / early September, and it was amazing. The room (actually a small cabin) was spacious and comfortable, with great amenities and interesting furnishings and fixtures. The landscaping is impeccable. The hosts were very gracious and accommodating, and went out of their way to make our stay as perfect as possible.... more

We had such a wonderful time at the Black Bear Inn. Each breakfast was a piece of art and tasted delicious. Got the cookbook! We were there for the first snow of the season and it was so inviting to sit in front of the fire in the lodge and enjoy the ambiance. Will go back, definitely! more

We had the most restful and relaxing getaway. The Black Bear Inn was so welcoming. Every staff person was friendly and took great care of us. The breakfasts were fabulous. We enjoyed a beautiful room in a lovely atmosphere. The other guests were great fun to talk with during wine and cheese time. It was total rest and relaxation. more

We (two couples) stayed at the Black Bear Inn this past Labor Day weekend. The inn is beautiful, well designed, extremely comfortable, very clean and well maintained. The grounds and the gardens are eye attractive and well placed. The hot tub relaxed every muscle of my trail weary body. The little maps that they have describing the area, pointing our... more

Stayed here for 4 days in August. The property is maintained meticulously with a lovely fountain, trees, grass, the works. The wine and cheese before dinner was so great and really enjoyed the food, wine and conversing with amazingly sweet, social guests. The inn owners were lovely too. They went out of their way to help us. Our Sutter cabin... more

The Black Bear Inn is wonderful! The grounds, cabins and rooms are beautiful! The afternoon wine and cheese is so much more. That is if you are still hungry after the huge breakfast. Jerry and Kevin are the nicest hosts. They make everyone feel at home. They encourage guests to relax and enjoy! Take their advise and let them book... more

The Inn is situated away from the lake but has high quality rooms and amenities. I wish we could say the same for the staff at the Inn. We had a horrible experience. The staff was rude and was completely inappropriate towards us. The staff member had a temper which was out of control. They raised their voice several times.... more

From the moment we walk inside the Inn our jaws dropped by the beauty and attention to detail. This an extraordinary Inn !!! The Huge Timber Beams and a Gorgeous Stone Fireplace sets the tone for this amazing Lodge. The naturalistic style carries through to the exterior. The gardens are lush with a natural stone waterfall .I have not stopped talking... more
