I would have to agree with the majority of these responses.... I happen to be a 24 year old die hard snowboarder with a 28 year boyfriend who also lives to ride.... (the age group intended right??) anyway, we found this hotel online and were completely stoked to be staying there for the night, only to find that it was... more

Blaring music at 4am, racial slurs, screaming, vandalism, violence and ABSOLUTELY NO SLEEP. If this is the type of experience you're looking for, then this is the place for you!! First off, my husband and I are snowboarders and thought it was really great to find a boarders' hotel in Tahoe. The reviews we read sounded great and the online... more

I have to say only wonderful things about this place. Me and my cousin Angie booked a "Not so Great Hotel" and I had heard through a friend about this Hotel "The Block" I saw the vacancy sign on our way to check in and when we called ahead and I spoke with "Nathan" he said come on over he... more

This is NOT a hotel. It should NEVER be advertised as a hotel. It is a place where those who want to continue to extend the worst of College Frat living on Spring Break go to do so. I endured one night in this bizarre world. Was it the LOUD blarring vulgar lyriccs spewing for th speaker in the front... more

This place is very "hip"! looks like a club kinda! has a really cool "chill lounge" and hotel motto! The rooms are small and have absolutely no amenities! The suite looked cool, but was out of our price range! The party is constant at this place! free beer at check in, all the energy drinks you want, video games etc.... more

Great location, clean room and fun friendly staff. We were definitly not their target clientele, being over 50 but had a great stay. It was mid week and off season so it was quiet but we weren't there for the party. Had a great time relaxing on the deck. more

So to begin with, I didn't read any reviews - walking in blind. I did have an idea of what it might be like - run down hotel fixed up - close to the Heavenly gondola (our - my son and I went - reason to be there). Our plan was drive up from SF early Wednesday, ski/ride all day... more

My boss gave me a free trip; decided to go to South Lake Tahoe for snowboarding, drinking and gambling. I came across The Block on the Internet. The web site was very enticing to me; it sounded like a fun, hip place to stay, close to the casinos and Heavenly. I made reservations. About a week later, I happened to... more

I am more than a little dissapointed to say the least. The room was nothing like that advertised on the site. No duvet covers, holes in the towels. Did I mention the heat didn't work, the wireless was also a no go, AND our room didn't get serviced for 3! days - no I am not joking. This is the... more

I liked the idea of The Block and it does have some interesting concepts: bar/pool table in the lobby -(however it was very small in this area so not very inviting), music in the parking lot (some explicit rap, fyi), wax shop, snowboard holders in the room...it really is way overpriced for what you get. This is a sub standard... more
