We stayed here because it was cheap (bid thru priceline). The location was awesome next to water and close to casinos. The rooms suck !! The bed was hard and the room carpet smells. If you need wireless its very spotty unless you are on the 1st floor. The jacuzzi and pool needs to be cleaned. The hotel website is... more

This hotel was wonderful, the customer service was amazing, and being near the casinos was a great convenience. Tanika was such a helpful and kind person. She upgraded us to an amazing new room for an awesome price. The location was great because there is a beautiful beach across the street. more

I stayed here with some friends for a snowboard trip at Heavenly... This place is awesome! Ian at the Front Desk is super nice!!! He recommended the BEST sushi place. You must go to the Naked Fish! We were here for 3 nights and the staff was very accommodating. The continental breakfast was standard and filling. A great grab and... more

I booked a room with my cousin at Royal Valhalla for our snowboarding trip and it was the biggest mistake we made during our trip to Lake Tahoe!!! We got a call around 11am from the hotel stating that our room would be ready at 12pm and when we arrived they said no one called and it would not be... more

General review: The rooms are basic, but relatively clean and roomy. Hot tub has a nice view of the lake. Breakfast is cereal, juice, coffee, and donuts. Staff is friendly, but unorganized and inattentive. My friends and I went to this hotel for two days to spend sometime playing in the Tahoe snow. I should have known there was no... more

We visit Tahoe every year, and try a different hotel/motel each time as a "new experience." This is the absolute worst experience that we've have ever had in Tahoe. The room looked like they had just patched it up for our visit, with a series of 2" nails protruding from the frame of the closet. The best part was that... more

I am really stunned by all of the negative post about the Royal Valhalla. We just returned from a 7 night stay. This is definately the best place to stay in South Lake Tahoe. It is located on the lake with the casinos within walking distance. We enjoyed the fantastic view of the lake from our balcony. The breakfast was... more

couple of things made this experience unpleasant. First I was quoted $125 a night per room for 2 rooms. When I checked in, for the first room they charge my card $209. When I questioned them about it they said they would charge the other room at $109. You do the math. NOT RIGHT. Next I left my camera in... more

The positive things about this motel (yes, motel, not royal at all): (1) it is across from a private beach (2) there is a BlueGo/NiftyFifty trolley stop in front of the motel. (3) there is an in-room safe The negative things: (1) The private beach is shared with who knows how many other lodges, and walk-ins who are willing to... more
