We had a 3rd floor room mid week overlooking the pool area. Our room was very clean, housekeeping did an excellent job. Our only disappointment was the lighting in the room, not enough of it, very dark. We rearranged the lamps and all was fine. Because of our small dog we were on the first floor, but still had a lovely view of the lake. We faced the highway, but had no excessive road noise. The location was excellent, service and cleanliness were fine, so we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We would stay here again. more

We'd reserved a King Great Room with Lake View, and requested a quiet location on the third floor. Our requests were granted, but when we went to our room upon arrival were very disappointed, as the view of the lake was mostly obstructed by the back of a building and trees. The "almost" has to do with road noise. But if you're in the middle of the town of South Lake Tahoe and you want to be right by the lake, well, you're gonna be near route 50. Can't be helped. Our room was nice and clean and the bathroom big. We traveled with our 4 yr old and he really enjoyed the pool. We enjoyed our stay at the Inn by the Lake very much. We got a free upgrade to a big room with a kingsize bed with lake view. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful with anything you asked them. I can higly recommend this hotel! more
