My husband and I stayed for 3 memorable nights in the sumptuous River Room of Connie and Alf's perfectly lovely Bed & Breakfast. The B&B is not advertised as a spot for birders to stay, but the beautiful grounds abounded with warblers and both Osprey and Bald Eagle were easy to spot along the river past the garden. From the... Alf and Connie were great host. Our stay felt like we were going to a friends house. This is what a B&B should feel like. The house ans rooms were beautiful and welcoming. The property is so nice to walk through and special added touches everywhere. They suggested great places to eat and visit. They knew the area so well.... More

I wish we could clone Connie and Al and their B&B, but I guess that would make it less special. They were wonderfully friendly, talkative, interesting and accomodating. The house, rooms and yard are beautiful, almost surreal. If you are considering it do youself a favour and book here now for as long as you can. I don't understand the... More

The eastern shore to Halifax is a hidden gem in Nova Scotia, but is dwarfed by the popularity of the south shore which includes, Peggy's Cove, Mahome Bay, Lunenburg, etc. After exploring the scenic and peaceful eastern shore, I recommend stopping for awhile at the Old Riverside Lodge in Musquodoboit Harbor, east of Halifax. Connie and Alf will be there... More

We stayed overnight as we were attending a wedding. The inn is fantastic. Clean, beautifully furnished with many common sitting rooms, a huge veranda, breakfast room, etc. The three rooms are spacious, decorated tastefully and very well kept. I worried about privacy but the rooms seemed to be soundproof. Great view of the river. Garden. Flowers. Just lovely. Connie and... More

We only stayed one night at the Old Riverside Lodge. I could have stayed longer, but we were on our way to Cape Breton. Our GPS did not take us all the way down the road… it seemed like we might have made a wrong turn, but there it was! First of all, Alf and Connie couldn't be any more... More

Like to owners themselves the house is full of charm and character. We were greated with warmth and and like family. The house has a lot of history and the grounds are beautiful. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious. They went out of their way to make us feel at home. The only problem is that we could only stay one... More

My wife and I stayed one night with Alf and Connie. The only complaint that I have is that we couldn't have stayed longer. Right from our arrival we felt that we had known both Alf and Connie for a long time. They are both super friendly and gave us great information of the local area and places to eat.... More

this inn is officially listed as a band b but it is much more. The inn is a completely modern place, with all amenities in a beautiful setting and run by the nicest people you will ever meet. The breakfasts (included) are listed as "continental" but they are really complete with hot food well prepared. The decor is charming, and the... More

My husband and I stayed with Connie and Alf for 4 weeks last spring while our house in Musquodobit was being renovated. We had just moved to N.S. from ONT. We didn't know a soul here. We were completely comfortable and happy in our stay with them...the food (even the eggs Alf) were great! we had a wonderful time with... More
