The photo of the pub frontage is not flattering but don't be deceived, this is a gem. We'd battled with the floods, the changes of the interchanges on the A1 that weren't on the Tom Tom, crawled through the George's front door and saw the Thekaston's pump gleaming! Nectar! The room was small but beautifully decorated and very clean. Shiny... More

My husband and I stayed and ate at the George at Wath and were delightfully surprised at the quality and welcoming atmosphere. We are "seasoned" travelers in Europe, and are always on the look-out for quality locations in smaller, less touristy locations. Wath is perfect for location near many sites, but is quiet AND quality. We would recommend that you... More

We stayed the night and the accomodation was really lovely and the pub extremely friendly and welcoming. The breakfast was also fantastic with a... More

We are staying at Swinton Park hotel and fancied a change of scenery for the evening, We picked The George based on the great TripAdvisor reviews. Very attractive looking pub, and a popular pub with lots of locals which is always a good sign. Great choice of food on the menu including a Lobster maincourse! We chose tapas style starters... More

Stayed here last night- lovely pub/ hotel north of Ripon. Would have been good for the races if they were not abandoned. Still it gave us an opportunity to eat here and we were really impressed by the food and service. Tiny dining room (you can also eat i the bar but it's noisy on a Friday night) The food... More

lovely place. Staff very attentive. Good quality food and drink in the restaurant. Even though it is also the village pub the rooms are very quiet with comfortable beds. Centrally placed for exploring this bit of Yorkshire.
