Been for a spa day here two or three times. A very good massage and good value. However last time I went I was disappointed with the attitude of the owner so won't be going back. I feel that the owners do not understand the customer comes first rule. They have had issues on the financial side of things and... More

although the hotel is a little dated we decided to stay in a cabin situated in the grounds. ideal for dog owners where you have the independence but the benefit of a good breakfast which caters for many tastes. situated close to the village of thurston but providing a tranquil setting in which we could relax outside the cabin with... We booked the budget room for two nights. We found the room very different from the photographs on the website. The room was too hot, noisy as above the kitchen area, the carpet was very badly stained and in general the room was in need of re-decorating. It was sad to see what once was a grand Hotel, in a... We stayed one night, purely because it was conveniently situated for our purpose. Evening meal was mediocre, service was good. Bed was clean and reasonably comfortable. It was very quiet. In the morning we only had scalding hot water, even the loo cistern filled up with hot water! I had to rinse off from my shower using the bottled drinking... More

The hotel is hidden in trees and has a lovely garden to walk in. We stayed in a wood chalet beside this garden. Chalet had a very comfortable double bed, and a well kited wet room with shower toilet and sink. Some of the fittings were a little tired, but overall impression was good and clean. Kettle and drinks/tea/coffee were... More

My wife booked us a last moment accommodation at the Grange Hotel. We were in one of the 'log cabins'. Unfortunately our visit coincided with some of the heaviest rain of the Summer. (A log cabin magnifies the sound of rain in the night.) The cabin was about as basic as they come. We never found the heating switch and... More

Stayed for one night whilst visiting Bury in superior log cabin. First impression from a distance was excitement. However, the chair on veranda outside was wobbly and unstable and all the shelf's including the one holding the kettle and cups did not appear firmly attached to the walls and leaned downwards. However, had a good nights sleep in comfy bed.... More

The grounds of the hotel were immaculately kept and the log cabins within the grounds looked great. Unfortunately, my room wasn't so great. There were marks around the walls, the paint was peeling from the window frames very badly, and the room itself was baking hot. The room I was in, felt as though it was an after thought and... More

The log cabin room was nice with a large bathroom but the sink was in a weird position so that when you sat on the toilet you were squashed against the sink whereas there was plenty of room to have put it elsewhere. The welcome was not the best when we were told our room wasn't ready yet before they... More

Booked into hotel at 10pm very tired from driving. OK first impression, however we were given the box room, so small the double bed was pushed against the wall. Bathroom was a like a built cupboard in the corner of the room and was so small it didn't even have room for a bath, plus the radiator was rusty. Sorry... More
