This was my second visit at Airport chalet. Its been around 3 years since my last visit here. As a Houstonian, visiting far-northern part of Canada is a kind of refreshing challenge and excitement for me and also for my friend. Airport Chalet is small but still classy. The hospitality of staff memeber and owner is exceptional as always. Not... More

Sweet cozy lounge from the Alaska Highway days of old. Bountiful aerial history photo's on the walls. Lovely accommodating Staff and owners. Did I say central fireplace in lounge and cool diner Cafe. Across from airport. Locals and travellers with many stories to share. Comfort Food. Still have rooms for smokers.....winkWink

We flew into Whitehorse late in the day and walked just across the street to the Airport Chalet. The staff is very nice and helpful, making suggestions for area activities. The onsite restaurant and bakery are fantastic! We enjoyed the wonderful breakfast and were told the breads and many of the items are made fresh each day on the premises.... More

We had planned to stay at a newer hotel next door but it was full. We were referred to the Chalet. It is older but is adequate. The room was clean. Parking was somewhat of a problem, and the approach and stairs were somewhat slick from a recent snowfall. The staff was very helpful and the food in the restaurant... More

Decent enough hotel in the old Alcan style...basic rooms, a restaurant/diner up front, a bar, lots of parking, right on the highway, and across from the airport. The diner is pretty good...basic burgers, breakfasts, etc. I fly small planes back and forth between Alaska and Texas a couple times a year, so this is a convenient stop...walking distance to the... I stayed in the hotel and was initially pleasantly surprised. The rooms are dated, with wood panelling on the walls, but it had an eclectic type of feel. However, it was close to 35 Celsius in the room. There is no air conditioning and even though it was cool outside, opening the window did nothing. I had a single fan... More

I have stayed in the Airport Chalet many times on my trips to Alaska and have always had great service and enjoy the rooms that are separate from the main building. Very quiet and good rooms. Hope to stay there on my return trip home in late August.

We stayed here because literally every other decent room in Whitehorse was occupied. They apparently don't book through any of the online sites, and have no phone number listed with TA. I finally googled them and got the number from their website. Is located directly across from the airport, about a half mile walk. Property is very old and dated... More

You know the truth of it is that I don't always look for the million dollar light fixtures and beds you need a step ladder to get into but more the feel when you enter the place. As long as it's clean, friendly and the staff when the say "hello can I help you" they look at you not through... More
