While searching for a hotel in Dawson we had the impression that there were really not many good places to stay. In the end we booked the Downtown Hotel as we liked its gold rush rustic look and it was one of the few places that still had rooms available. But I was quite wary of it and unfortunately, my...

turned up at 2.30pm, i was told check in starts at 3 then ignored until 3pm. very rude staff throughout the hotel and restaurant. The location is good, the rooms are very dated and tired, not sure how this place continues to do business...especially with the price!

Old, dirty and tired. Not cute or charming, just a dump.

However, the rooms show signs of poor maintenance...

The main hotel is fine, but prepare yourself for noise and heating problems if you stay in the annex--especially if you room faces the street.
