The husband of the family running this B & B was born in this house, so it is interesting to see what a family house in this part of the world is like. The view from the front porch, a very comfortable place to sit, is outstanding, looking at the St. Lawrence River, the small port of Tadoussac, and the... More

We stayed only one night to go whale watching. The owners are really nice and they behave like grandparents!! :) Breakfast consists of quebec homemade specialities, all sorts of maple sirup and cheeses The only bad thing was wifi, it never worked.. not so bad, tadoussac has a free public wifi ;)

My sister and I stopped here recently on a trip through Quebec. Maison Hovington is a great B&B in a perfect location. The owners are welcoming and very helpful. The building is older, the rooms are not large, and they are a bit cluttered, but charming and well maintained. Mother Nature hid the view from us with lots of fog,... More

Maison Hovington is a great B&B, with wonderful hosts, a great view of the St. Lawrence and the marina across a park, within easy walking distance of the Marina and the Hotel Tadoussac - and a wonderful breakfast with far more options and food than you can eat. We met other guests from Italy and St. Barts which led to... More

Hard to see why some people go overboard about this place but then Bund does prefer the functional and uncluttered to the ornate and cluttered! Booked the largest room for the extra space but even then the shower and loo were in a tiny cupboard. Even at a mere 1.75 metres (five foot nine in old money) Bund had to... More

'Maison Hovington' is a warm, friendly, comfortable and small B&B managed first hand by 'The Hovingtons' - we had a sea-view room named for family member 'Esther', one of only 5 rooms - you can't ask for better - Madame Hovington was welcoming and ready to assist - her breakfast was tasty, varied and full of oven-warm surprises -Tad is... The view from the big front porch and yard looked across the bay and was gorgeous. The proprietors shared their fascinating family history with us. Each of the rooms is named for one of the great-grandfather's children. Breakfast was exceptional. The rooms and bathroom were very clean. We definitely would stay there again Denise and John

On our round trip of Eastern Canada we spent 2 nights in this place. It is a lovely place with a lot of memorabilia of over a century of the owners of this place. Breakfast is not only very good, partly served and partly as a buffet. We assembled round a big table and had some really enjoyable and informative... More

We spent 2 nights at the Maison Hovington and found it charming and conveniently located. First of all, Mr & Mrs Hovington could not have been better hosts. From my first contact with Mr Hovington on the phone (when he helpfully described their auberge and their service) I was charmed. The breakfasts were beautifully presented and thoughtfully prepared and were,... More

We would stay here again. Our telephone reservation was warmly received and so were we when we arrived. The following morning the breakfast room was filled with lively conversation with those gathered around the family table. Our host was very gracious and gave us a little history of his home. The breakfast presentation was copious and nutritious. We joined in... More
