The building and grounds are beautiful. The views of the bay are fantastic. The location is good. Rooms are small, just adequate. There is no air conditioning. there is a ceiling fan. The room was slipping into a state of disrepair. The bathroom fan timer didn't work, the grout had broken out of the bathroom floor tiles. There's no coffee... More

The roof isn't red and hasn't been repainted .... faded orange. No atmosphere in the lobby with it's plane boring beige walls , no fridge in the rooms, no air conditioners and it was 30 degrees for 3 days, the rooms are very clean though . Very expensive for little

Sitting on the front lawn of the hotel and being able to watch the whales and balugas feeding in the bay it doesn't get better.Or maybe it does, try the trip up the Saguenay river or a whale watching tour on the St-Lawrence.Restaurants are plentiful with great local seafood.I recommend going there at least once in your life.It is the first... I went there for two nights and I am really satisfied. It was a good place to stay in, service was excellent, food was good as well and the view on the St Laurent River was stunning. I think if you ever come to Tadoussac, you should at least eat in there.

We only stayed briefly in this hotel but thoroughly enjoyed it. It felt like the period experience it is, a beautiful old building with appropriate decor and furnishing. Our room overlooked the lovely back gardens but there is a front terrace upstairs and gorgeous gardens to the front that everyone can use along with a nice pool and tennis court.... More

The service is excellent. The woman that helped us book (Vanessa) and a gentleman at the desk (Stephan) were just great. Friendly & helpful. The hotel is old. It doesn't have amenities you might expect from big cities. And the prices are kind of "big city", which does affect expectations. But your options in the area are limited and you... More

Apart from little B&B's and such, this is pretty well the only place to stay in the actual town of Tadoussac. It looks right out on to the docks where all the whale watching cruises leave from (about an 8 minute walk from the hotel) and looks right over the beautiful massive bay, you can see whales from the hotel... This is most certainly the grand old lady of Tadoussac. Built in 1865 in the style of Canada's grand hotels. While not as classy as hotels built by CP in the 19th century, it certainly merits honorable mention due to its imposing presence, outstanding vantage point overlooking the bay, a very courteous & helpful staff and well maintained lawns with... First of all... Tadoussac is such an amazing area that there can be very little wrong with a stay in the grande dame hotel. Really. We stayed two nights in a comfortable room - not even one of the waterfront rooms. But we actually spent almost no time in the room, except to sleep. And the room and bed were... More

We booked this hotel in mid-June for a 2 day stay as part of our vacation throughout Quebec. This location was chosen for a whale-watching cruise, which we included in our hotel package for a very reasonable price. There is not a bad word I can say about our entire experience. On the contrary, it was probably our most relaxing... More
