We arrived on 20th August in the very late evening without booking (2 adults 3 kids in one room) and we payed 256 CAD. The day after we slept in a four star hotel in the old center for 286 cad always without booking.. more

The room was rented to a party of five adults. Maybe some of the people in the rooms were kids, but they sure did not look like kids. The room rented was a "studio" with two double beds, and one single bed. In the studio, there was a kitchenette, inclusive of a refrigerator and a microwave oven. A computer hooked...

Found the room lacking space to put suitcases or travel bags. No coat hangers in closets. Telephone didn't work, but we didn't have anyone locally to call. TV remote didn't work, but we weren't there to channel surf. The kitchen could stand for a few more utensils and also plates and maybe a paper towel rack. Travelers often carry picnic... more

The staff there are really friendly and helpful. They explained to me what were the good tourist spots and local restaurants. And they highlighted best routes for walking tours. Their English is perfect. The rooms were clean and tidy. They were really comfortable and cozy for their price. The hotel is right next to the bus station so it is... more

We have been travelling since 19th November 2008 (it is now 12th August 2009) and we have been travelling around Australia, Singapore, The Maldives, Bulgaria, the UK and now Canada. To date this has been the best hostel/hotel we have stayed in and we liked it so much we extended our stay from 3 nights to 5 nights (reservation 10657).... more

The Auberge Michel Doyon is excellent value for the price. The auberge is made up of a series of picturesque buildilngs, situated very conveniently: there's a bus that takes you directly to Old Quebec and a large bus depot just steps away, and there's also a small grocery store nearby that pretty much covers everything a traveller would need: fruit,... more

Booked this place via hostelbookers.com a couple of nights before what was essentially a day trip to Quebec. We rocked up there and had some trouble sorting out our booking with Jacques (the owner's brother, covering for him while he took some "him-time") but it really didn't matter... Jacques was just so astonishingly - and unpretentiously - kind and friendly.... more

Very bad "hotel". Rooms are extremely small and dirty, TV remote does not work, beds are too narrow, breakfast is horrible. After day a stay there I paid extra $30 dollars in "Aux des Lions" and really enjoyed my vacation. Very bad value for the money. Do not go there - it is a trap. more

Rooms are the size of a typical room in normal home. We have historically (60 years) been praised for the cleanliness of our rooms. Free breakfast is all you can eat and menu is available on our web site. This person scores us 1 on everything, even on location, although we are downtown Quebec City (Eight minutes by bus from...

The pictures of rooms on their website are totally deceiving. We were given a room in a house next door. There were bugs crawling on the bathroom counter and in the drawers, the room reaked of mothballs from the old dressers, the old AC made so much noise it was impossible to sleep, and the unsanitary pillows had sharp feather... more

We checked the description of the hotel and the photos, and got a confirmation from them after 24 hours, and everything looked ok, but when we got there it was a very unpleasant surprise: we did not expect our room to be in the BASEMENT with no windows and with the smell I can't even describe. They did not even... more

Well, there were heating problems, and I was under the impression I would actually get a bed to sleep in...instead, all I got was an air bed, beside a double bed. (There were three of us) Also, I am also pretty convinced someone went into my room (I left it unlocked) and rifled through my bag and stole my wallet.... more

This was during the Quebec Winter Carnaval, and there was very limited availability anywhere in Quebec City. Customers are always informed in advance that an inflatable bed will be provided, if they sleep 3 in a room designed for 2 persons. Extra blankets are available upon request. In some extreme cold weather, it is sometimes difficult to regulate the temperature,...
