You are in Quebec City so think older and European hotel. A little dated but so is the city. You are only a block away from the magnificent walls of the old city. This hotel's rooms are clean and housekeeping does a good job of keeping up. No bars of soaps or bottles of shampoo. All soaps and shampoos are... More

I stayed here 1 night for work. I thought the hotel seemed a little dated. There was only one working ice machine when I was there and had to make several trips to find one. I had previously stayed at Hotel Vieux Quebec and I would stay there again, but not here.

Great location, just steps outside the city wall. Hotel has the usual amenities that one would get a Hilton or Sheraton (pool, hot tub, in-room coffee, plus free Wi-Fi). The suite was spacious and the space well utilized. Did not feel cramped at all even when the sofabed was folded out. If management pays some extra attention to the details... More

After touring Atlantic Canada and camping for 18 days, another couple and my fiance and I decided to treat ourselves to a beautiful hotel for our last night on vacation. Initially I wanted to stay at the Chateau Frontenac since it was in the old Quebec, and a family member suggested that we stay at the Palace Royal as it... More

We stayed 5 nights in the Palace Royal Hotel. Best thing about it is the location, just outside the St. Jean gates. It was great for walking on the old city part of St. Jean, especially at night when it becomes a pedestrian-only area, with the restaurants took over the sidewalks for their patios. Our room was very pleasant, with... More

Stayed here for 3 nights as part of a family vacation. Location was one block from the gates of the old city and in fact you could see the gate clearly from the hotel. Rooms were clean and didn't totally feel like a antiseptic business hotel because of the furniture style and hardwood floors. There was a really nice pool... More

We stayed here for one night. It is right at the edge of old town and very easy to get around from. We had a room with an exterior window (not overlooking pool). It was a good size, very clean, 2 queen beds. Floor is not carpeted, which I liked for cleanliness, though it was louder to move around. Bathroom... More

Hotel is right outside the St Jean gate which is a good location. There are several small grocery stores on St Jean in the opposite direction which are good for picking up breakfast food and snacks. Lots of restaurants near-by. The room set-up is good for families with kids and fridge and microwave are handy. However, if you are a... More

Came for business. Rooms have what you need. Yes, it needs updated a little. Things seems to be worn out, you can't close the curtains, housekeeping was good. Breakfast coupons were nice to have. Service and speed are good. Food is a little over priced for the quantity you get. Location is great, they offer tickets for bus tours, and... More
