My husband and I were in Quebec city for my husbands birthday. The hotel room was lovely and romantic. We could have easily spent all of our time in the room. The view was spectacular,we could see the Chateau Frontenac and the St.Lawrence.The breakfast is great, just enough to get you started on your day of sightseeing. We would definitely stay at this... Listening to horses clip clopping along the narrow streets through open windows while tucked into cozy beds brings visions of another era. At Maison du Fort, Mme. Roy has created her own tiny bit of paradise over the past twenty years which she shares with her visitors. She is the perfect host, always available but never intrusive, sharing her wealth... More

I had a short and delightful stay at the inn. My room was small but very comfortable, clean and functional. The Inn is close to many of the attractions within the Old City , and located on a quiet street, so it's perfect to reach out to wherever one wants to go on foot. I was lucky to have befriended... Says it all in the title really, if you're looking for somewhere to stay within the Old City that is reasonably priced, clean, comfortable, and convenient you can't do better than the Maison du Fort. My daughters and I shared two rooms, both with comfortable double beds, one on the main floor and one on the second floor, and found... More

Maison Du Fort, on Rue St. Genevieve, should be your choice for a stay in Quebec at any season. Marielle is very kind, helpful and makes excellent suggestions when you let her know what you want to do. I liked the way she arranged breakfast: serve yourself coffee/tea/juice, a selection of baked goods, and you can go on your way.... More

My husband and I were so lucky to find the Maison du Fort on a quiet residential street two blocks from the Frontenac, just up from the delightful river view boardwalk through a small park in the center of the old town and less than a block from the amazing green space that is the Citadel and the Plains of... The Maison du Fort is a very nice hotel inside the city walls of old Quebec. The location is perfect, within walking distance to many of the sites of old Quebec yet on a quieter street. Our room was just beautiful, comfortable and clean, we found the hotel very welcoming and inviting. Madame Roy made us feel right at home,... More

Wonderful!! clean, homey lodging in a great location- just a few hundred yards to the Frontenac and the funicular to the original lower town. The morning's pastry and coffee was just right and hit the spot. Additionally, the weather got into the high 80's and our air conditioned room was a welcome respite after walking around town. The innkeeper is... More

My wife and I visited Quebec from California for a romantic few days together in July. Maison du Fort was the perfect place to stay. It is in an ideal location in the old city so you can walk everywhere most tourists wish to visit. Our room was delightful (#10) although it is on the third-floor of a walk-up so... More

Spent 4 nights here. The room was delightful even though it was on the third floor and there is no elevator. The owner is a very available and knowledgeable woman. She gave us a map when we arrived with lots of suggestions for seeing old Quebec. The breakfast included coffee, tea, hot chocolate, juice and different breads and cookies. Very... More
